To be trying to think of a sport where women's biology means that we have an advantage over men

And then taking it up and saying I'm transgender?
Just to wait and see how long it takes for men to complain that it's unfair?

But imo it's not a coincidence that men are better at most sports. The nature of sport is that the strongest/fastest body wins. And the nature of male domination/the patriarchy is that the most powerful has the power. The logic of sport and the logic of patriarchy are identical. It's sports that are the problem imo, not tg people.

StrawberryQuik · 27/09/2016 14:00

I came on to say gymnastics as women are more flexible...but men and women compete in different events. Hmm...

Irush · 27/09/2016 14:01

Idaho yes that's very interesting

OP posts:
Irush · 27/09/2016 14:02

I was thinking about gymnastics.

Finola1step · 27/09/2016 14:03

I'm struggling...

Rhythmic gymnastics, synchronised swimming - doesn't really work.

myownprivateidaho · 27/09/2016 14:03

But yeah, I guess gymnastics is the only one. So yes, why not identify as a man for the purpose of being a gymnastics champion OP? Since that would not involve any kind of inconvenience for you or raise any problems whatsoever in how you are perceived and treated I'm sure you'll very easily be able to prove your point that tg people are just faking it for shits and giggles.

CMOTDibbler · 27/09/2016 14:03

Marathon swimming - as discussed here over the long distances women are faster

WomanActually · 27/09/2016 14:04

Synchronised swimming?

TheHubblesWindscreenWipers · 27/09/2016 14:05

Long distance swimming.

And ultra marathon type stuff - after about 100km in one go it's as much about mental toughness .

Agree with Idaho. Sport is basically the human version of stags butting heads.

DoNotBlameMeIVotedRemain · 27/09/2016 14:05

Even something like ice skating the women look more elegant but being stronger means men can do do harder tricks.

TheHubblesWindscreenWipers · 27/09/2016 14:05

DoNotBlameMeIVotedRemain · 27/09/2016 14:06

Horse riding is relatively equal but men and women generally compete together.

Irush · 27/09/2016 14:09

Yes and most top horseriders are male. Due to lifestyle probably

OP posts:
Cloudspider · 27/09/2016 14:15

Floundering and bog snorkelling. As women are smaller and lighter they are less likely to sink into the mud.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 27/09/2016 14:15

Childbirth should be a sport. That's our only hope I think!

Irush · 27/09/2016 14:17

So no one can think of anything?

OP posts:
ageingrunner · 27/09/2016 14:20

Ultra marathon running, as someone mentioned upthread. You have to run a LONG way though. And men and women compete together anyway, so actually it wouldn't work 😔

witchhazelblue · 27/09/2016 14:37

When I used to play football our (male) coach told us regularly that women have an control advantage in the sport, since we have an extra area of the body that we can use to control the ball - our pelvic area. Men can't since their goolies get in the way Grin. As long as you don't get a football in the foof, it's a great way to steady the ball and use your hips to direct it where you need it to go.

Obviously it doesn't give us a physical advantage over men with strength and speed though.

statetrooperstacey · 27/09/2016 14:38

Shooting ping pong balls from our vaginas. At high velocity. We would probably excel at that.

FlyingElbows · 27/09/2016 14:43

I don't think I'd excel at fanny firing ping-pong balls! 😁

maslinpan · 27/09/2016 14:46

Multiple orgasms?

Hereward1332 · 27/09/2016 14:47

I think you'll be hard pushed to find one. Most sports are competitions of speed or strength, both of which rely on increased muscle mass. Less physical sports -shooting, archery, equestrianism- are on a more level playing field but certainly don't favour women

pistonpower · 27/09/2016 15:21

Shooting? As in rifle or clay?

AnyFucker · 27/09/2016 15:23

Life

Balletgirlmum · 27/09/2016 15:54

Have you seen Priscilla then state trooper?

Women are more flexible than men which is why they can have an advantage in some branches of gymnastics.

My daughter is made to learn some of the male virtuoso moves in ballet (one of her teachers believes it's good for them to learn each other's stuff) & her jumps compete with the boys.
