to secretly get rid of our kitten and tell the DC that it ran away?

Have had kitten for around 6 weeks now. DC have wanted a pet for a long time and I gave in and got one for them. Cats are easier to deal with than dogs right?

Well today, I have had enough. I had have to scoop 3 lots of shit out of the litter box and there was a piece of shit on the floor that must have come off her paws and which means that the whole house, and sofa is now covered in cat shit germs Envy puke!

It also runs up the curtains which are now all pulled. My leather --look- dining chairs have scratch marks where it keeps jumping up the back of them and it has pulled up the carpet on the stairs.

DS (6) is constantly chasing it round the house with an incessant cackle (over excited, not cruelly, the cat loves him) which does my head in and keeps taking it upstairs to lie on his bed.

Last week, it has a runny arse and I still have the wounds where I had to bath it, not before it spread kitty shit germs everywhere again.

As a side note, I also suffer from OCD. Not 'a bit' but actually diagnosed.

I love my DCs to bits but they also love the kitty a lot. I am not sure I can put them first this time!

WIBU to find a good home for it and tell them it ran off into the forest and I couldn't find it

I don't give a shit, someone who thinks it's totes hilair to joke about dumping a baby animal on a motorway gives me the absolute rage and makes me feel shitty and snobby about her.

In fact, she should thank the cat for improving the fucking chairs.

ghostyslovesheep · 27/09/2016 20:18

ohhh she's pretty

scarednoob · 27/09/2016 20:26

She looks just like my grandad's old cat, Dudley.

scarednoob · 27/09/2016 20:26

Fucking phone. Sukey, not Dudley!

imnotreally · 27/09/2016 20:45

Is this thread still going?!

I totally agree. She deserves it. Good post, btw.

Something good out of something bad....all they gorgeous kitty pics Smileconfession....I did snigger at the 'my leather-look chairs' line in the Op.

scarednoob · 27/09/2016 21:12

I assumed it was part of an elaborate troll at first, but then it degenerated into animal dumping (in more ways than one) and I saw red! Angry

V jealous of the lovely kitties. I am a genetic weakling who is allergic to them all.

Milklollies · 27/09/2016 21:15

Yorkie and kali- first step would be getting out of my parents house. I'm technically the breadwinner and I want to be the male equivalent of lorelai Gilmore in terms of parenting.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 27/09/2016 21:19

This is the same op who wanted to know if she wbu to tell her daughter to leave her the fuck alone (while she was smoking a fag).

What is commonly known as a goady fucker. Can't believe HQ aren't on the case.

Only1scoop · 27/09/2016 21:21

A Troader for sure.

Milklollies · 27/09/2016 21:26

To even say something horrible as kitten dumping to stir up other posters just shows the OP's psyche. All you had to do was shut the thread. It is vile to dump an animal or even suggest it. When I was 7 I had my pet German shepherds crossbreed run over by motorcycle in front of me in my Asian country of origin. I still to this day hope the bastard who run my Teddy( that was his name) over a slow and painful death.

I came home from school and my family had already buried him. He had the softest fur and was extremely protective of me. The dog used to walk me up to the school bus and walk back with my mum or grandma to the house ( about 15 mins walk each way; and no leash). Hindsight has taught me the value of a leash as it is to protect the animals life but such animal protection is not deemed important in countries like the one I was born into. He protected everyone in our house and no intruders at all ever in our house.

A dog and cat isn't the same depending on your personal preferences but I can emphathise and understand how horrible it is to dump an innocent animal or even taunt about animal cruelty.

theclick · 27/09/2016 21:26

Can we see a pic of it tho? Would like to see a cute kitten pic!

alphabook · 27/09/2016 21:36

YABU for not actually thinking about the reality of getting a kitten before you got one.

YANBU for realising you've made a mistake, but I wouldn't lie to the DC about it, especially if they aren't pulling their weight like they said they would.

kali110 · 27/09/2016 21:58

Milklollies my absolute parenting model there Grin
i know the pain of that, it's happened to us twice. Sad
That's why ours are limited in where they are allowed. X

bluebellsparklypants · 27/09/2016 22:44

Oh right yes is same op with the DD smoking thread... No time alone & a kitten what a week!

SukeyTakeItOffAgain · 27/09/2016 22:55

I agree with the sentiments about the OP, but it's important to have the moral high ground, or it does look like bullying. Much as it pains me to say it about anyone who thinks jokes about dumping a kitten on the M 25 is material for a quip.

I saw a dog run over on the motoway once. The traffic slowed but no one dared get out, and the dog just lay there, suffering and dying. It was just the saddest, most awful sight I've ever seen.

alltoomuchrightnow · 27/09/2016 23:26

In my line of work , colleagues and me have often received threats along the lines of, ' I don't want my... (cat/dog/ rabbit/ guineapig/lizard/ whatever) any more, if you don't come and collect it I'll throw it out of the window/onto the motorway/ drown it/ flush it down loo/ poison it / etc.
Sometimes they've then gone ahead with these threats. Sometimes cats have gone to bait because we didn't get there in time.
Not going into full details as could out self and a recent case in my area was wildlife not being 'removed' from a garden (where it had a right to be) and the babies of said wildlife were put under the decking and then it (the decking) was nailed up. The mother of the babies was going frantic. Basically the threat was carried out because we wouldn't come and kill or remove the (protected) wildlife from this garden. Thankfully a neighbour risked everything to break in and free the animals but no idea what has happened since to them :( And believe me, this is one of the happier stories. I won't even share the ones that stop us all sleeping at night

Really, really not funny, OP.

alltoomuchrightnow · 27/09/2016 23:29

My point being.. making threats not a joke when these things are carried out all the time. We've just rescued kittens that were dumped in a skip and another one thrown out of a lorry
You sound lazy, OP, and a very bad role model in responsibility for your children.
BTW , I have OCD.
It's no excuse for not being responsible for live beings in your care
Please home her to a charity that can find her a decent home and please donate some money to that charity as all animal charities are overstretched because of people like you

NoMudNoLotus · 27/09/2016 23:29

O god bibbity is this the same woman with the classy "fag" thread?

CuriousPorge1975 · 27/09/2016 23:33

Can I get rid of you and tell your DC that you ran away?

Angry
RestlessTraveller · 28/09/2016 00:12

I see this thread has moved on since I got reported for calling the OP a cunt.

Peanutandphoenix · 28/09/2016 03:51

YABEU you can't get rid of a kitten because it's doing what all kittens do and the lie to your children about it that is just cruel. I have 2 kittens and they are doing the exact same things and I wouldn't get rid of them.
