..... to think that anyone doing noisy DIY in their front garden at 7.30 on a Sunday is an arse?

Seriously.
It started at 7.30 with chucking bricks about and scraping things with a trowel and now he's started with sodding power tools.
I was awake anyway but that's not the point.
Arse.

Its Saturday today , on a Sunday anytime before 9am would be unreasonable but I would be less bothered on a Saturday.

Laiste · 24/09/2016 07:58

YANBU

Twat down the road last week was using a bloody great hedge trimmer in his front garden at 8am on Sat morn. So loud even 6 or 7 doors down it disturbed DD4 (2) from a rare lie in! Angry

God knows what his closest neighbors thought!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 24/09/2016 08:00

YANBU.

A big arse as well.

LadyPenelope68 · 24/09/2016 08:01

Thing is, Saturday morning is a normal work day for lots of tradesmen eg. Builders/joiners, particularly in small companies, so I don't really have an issue on a Saturday. Sunday is a totally dufferent matter!!!

DesolateWaist · 24/09/2016 08:03

This isn't a tradesperson, just the neighbour. He's retired as well so it's not even a case of this being the only day he can do it.

Any day really early bugs me! It's bad enough listening to it throughout the day.

woodly2013 · 24/09/2016 08:07

YANBU I have taxi driver next door who works early doors every day of the week. So about 4:30am, I get house door bangs, gate rattles and bangs, car alarm beeps, radio on and car door slams, diesel engine revs. When I first moved in it disturbed me everyday. Then I sort of got used to it and it only started to wake me maybe 2-3 times per week. Did mention it to them, he not bothered. But this week told me he has new car and less noisy engine. I said good, but what about the door, gate, alarm, radio? Funnily enough he didn't comment. I need my sleep! I know he needs to work but a little consideration would go a long way. Just saying

Basicbrown · 24/09/2016 08:07

It wouldn't bother me, I am never asleep that late. But I wouldn't do it myself, but like I wouldn't let my children go outside to play at that time. So I guess yanbu.

RiverTam · 24/09/2016 08:09

9 am Saturday
10 am Sunday

That would be my rule of thumb.

When our ndns had their extension built we were told the workmen arent allowed to start noisy work before 8 on a weekday and I think it's later on a Saturday. 730 not acceptable.

DesolateWaist · 25/09/2016 08:16

Well he started a 8 today.
Already awake but I still think it is a dick move.

Maybe he's trying to get back at neighbours near him who let their kids out on trampolines early doors just like mine....
