I know, this is what everyone says. Ridiculous thing is, i was only trying to support someone else - and then an increasing number of "Oldies" piled in (I've been here for as long as most of them but less in your face).

This has happened a few times, and I've finally decided enough is enough. I have found other places for support and that's where I'll go. Still makes me sad though as I really could have done with some support over here. Bye everyone!

Looks like it, Sooty

allsfairinlove · 23/09/2016 23:24

9876543210 come on, don't be like that. It's tough at times, I know, and rock bottom really fucking sucks. But part of the process of getting out is pushing through these bad moments, one at a time. Don't leave because of this. And change your nn to something better and more recognisable, after all that's the worst thing really isn't it -- not being recognised that is.

Some people do vent their views harshly, not thinking that they are actually talking to a sad/confused or dissolutioned human.
Some say things in jest, but sound serious.
Some are too quick to respond without thinking.
If you put yourself forward as an OP, you have to be careful what you ask for, you need to explain clearly what you are after.
Sorry that u r leaving, maybe come back as AN OTHER!!!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2737563-i-ve-been-called-a-prostitute

Seems to be near the end. Not the OP!

AnyFucker · 23/09/2016 23:32

I have replied to you on the other thread x

MitzyLeFrouf · 23/09/2016 23:35

Don't take it so much to heart OP.

I find swearing and flicking two fingers at the screen to be most therapeutic. Change your name to something less User-ish and carry on! Flowers

This is what we mean when we say that we advise all our members to be aware that not everyone on t'internet is who they say they are, and that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

That said, one person's bad day is another person's greatest ever or some such. What's the adage?

Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

Peace and love

Atenco · 23/09/2016 23:37

I don't know, if someone disagrees with me I either realise that they have a point and openly acknowledge it, defend my point of view and or just leave it for a while. Just because some people disagreed with you is no reason to bugger off.

Florathefern · 23/09/2016 23:38

I'm not aware of the thread you are speaking about as I only read a couple of forums and whatever is trending but why not just change your username?

I change mine every six weeks on the off chance I could be identified. Surely its good practice to name change if you are disclosing personal details about yourself or family.

Guys I have to say that the op of the post could have had the same problem I did a few weeks ago, it logged me out, could not get back it, sent for a password request about 20 times it never came, so ended up re registering and this is simply what could have happened and I have been on here a few years, till I ended up with this user name a few weeks ago.

HelenaDove · 23/09/2016 23:39

"Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about."

I totally agree and will try to remember this in future.

It would be nice to see it posted and remembered on the body shaming threads too.

allsfairinlove · 23/09/2016 23:39

Eek Olivia!

GingerbreadLatteToGo · 23/09/2016 23:40

AnyFucker

What have you been sniffing?

Kisses? You? On a flounce thread?

My world is being turned 🙃

Dreamfoil · 23/09/2016 23:41

"That said, one person's bad day is another person's greatest ever or some such"

< surreptitiously waters down Olivia's gin>

Don't cry or flounce, OP. Name-change or whatever... it'll be okay Smile

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 23/09/2016 23:42

@usual

That was very deep, Olivia. Have you been on the Gin?

On the contrary, usual I am going running in the morning for I am In training for An Exercise Based Event.Shock

expatinscotland · 23/09/2016 23:42

HQ, can you please put a stop to this fucking 'user' business?

GingerbreadLatteToGo · 23/09/2016 23:43

752

But what's stopping you changing it to a regular name? 🙃

AnyFucker · 23/09/2016 23:44

Ginger. It's a Friday night on MN. It always heads to the weird side Wink

RJnomore1 · 23/09/2016 23:45

I may need to stay up and drink more now.

MitzyLeFrouf · 23/09/2016 23:47

Yes sort the User thing out. It must be annoying to be stuck as User563473737 when you really want to be TickleMeKnickers for example.

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 23/09/2016 23:49

'lo expat Grin

We know, we know
Sorry

HelenaDove · 23/09/2016 23:49

Seems like Mitzys Friday night is going well Wink
