He said he was going for a wee, on our twenty minute walk home from school. He went behind a bush next to the footpath. When I went to pull his trousers up the evidence was there to see (and smell). He proclaimed innocence to start with and then giggled uncontrollably all the way home.

I usually have poo bags with me but I'd left the dog at home and hadn't considered I'd need them for walking a five year old. So I had to leave it.

We scarpered down the path and I think we got away with it, but I am mortified.

Should I have gone back to clean it up? I considered it but then, erm, didn't. I'm now feeling a bit guilty.

How bad is this? Please tell me your children are as gross as mine!

To the poster who said she is thoughtless. She forgot the poo bag and wet wipes who would have thought you need all that when picking him up from school. What kind of person would think of a poo bag for their child in case they poo by a bush. Its a very rare and unfortunate thing us parents have to go through some times. Out of all of my childen 1 of them done that once I didn't think that afternoon to bring a poo bag and wet wipes because its not something that happens normaly. She was 3 years old at the time and I was to far from home to clean it up and put it in the bin. She done it up close to the bush it wouldn't harm anyone and I moved it into the bush. Accidents happen she never done that again.

Sunshine - 'Maybe a little' thoughtless for not going back to clear up was all! OP was not far from home. Feel free to dismount the high horse!

LOL at these responses. Yes it has happened to us when my DD was 3 but luckily I did have poo bags with me from a previous dog walk. They are small children, not teenagers. Get a grip!
