To feel like friggin super woman right now?

DH away today. I work and he's a SAHD. He's excellent with kids, does all cooking and washing up but that's it.

Feel like superwoman! Got both kids dressed, fed and to school on time. Came home, changed beds, hoovered and polished up and down stairs, cleaned bathroom and kitchen, washed up, on round 2 of laundry. Picked youngest up from nursery, fed her and me, and now sat having a coffee.

Surely he could do this all too right? Or are all women secretly superwoman?

YANBU at all. You are legitimately super woman. High five! I've got three kids, two of whom are at school and my almost 2 year old daughter at home. She's a little moo and I find it hard to do half the things you've done, so very well done you!

I think it is easier when its a one off than when it is every fecking day...

You may have done all that today, but could you do it every day? I couldn't.

I don't mean everyday I'm not a complete prick! But surely once a week maybe? Hes never in 8 years cleaned bathroom!

But I more meant superwoman for actually managing to get it all done ( whilst keeping 2 kids alive!)

So your children are in school/nursery? What does he do with his time?

This sounds a bit like a Dad acting as the SAHP for a day; doing it 'better' and proving how easy it is and why doesn't the usual SAHP do it like this every day?.

And a man considering himself 'Superman' for getting kids to school and doing a bit of housework would be given short shrift even if he did it day in day out. It's called parenting isn't it? - that's what would be said!

Yeah agree do all that day in day when you're not running high on the new found motivation from the change of scene, plus some subconscious level of determination to prove you can do more than the other parent.

Add to that the days when things don't go to plan, the dc are ill or you are ill (leaving you with even more to catch up on) and there's extra mess or work or just surprise events thrown in the mix. Then the fatigue of trying to keep up this physical routine every single day settles in. Dealing with and listening to endless tantrums or cries, and meeting the constant demands of young children takes its toll. Motivation and determination also wanes because the brain is no longer stimulated the same way - everything becomes familiar and routine and this impacts the brain chemicals so you function differently. It can get hard and exhausting and monotonous, and eventually you lack inspiration. You always seem to be doing something but there's always twenty more jobs left to do no matter what day it is. It's constant.

If your dh is sitting on his arse the entire time day in day out though that's another matter....

I do commend you though op, good job 👍🏻 It's a good feeling when you accomplish so much. I can have my off days but most of the time I get that good feeling at the end of each day. Knackering though.
