He swallows one mouthful of tea in 3 noisy gulps. I don't understand how he does it, why he does it. In a quiet living room it gives me the rage!

I love him dearly but he has only bloody passed the trait on to dd! Argh!!

He is your DH. Cope with it lovely. You would miss him if he was gone. X

JammyDodger16 · 20/09/2016 22:31

Absolutely I would, but that doesn't change that he some how manages to swallow one mouthful in 3 gulps. How? I've tried and I can't do it

Ha. I hate noisy eaters. Does my head in.

WorraLiberty · 20/09/2016 22:36

A friend of mine takes a mouthful of tea and then kind of 'eats' it Confused

I mean she literally looks like she's chewing it before she finally swallows it?!

JammyDodger16 · 20/09/2016 22:37

Why do people do this?! I asked dp if he could just take a smaller sip and he said 'what you just take a small sip and swallow it in one go?' Erm.. Yes!

Chewing tea is just as bad!

Bingo! Mine does the same.

I have to leave the room. Or really bite my tongue.

Tomselleckhaskindeyes · 20/09/2016 22:45

Obviously you can't poke him in the eye but you could remove the t bags? X

YouBoggleMyMind · 20/09/2016 22:45

My DH schlurps... Angry it gives me rage.

ArmySal · 20/09/2016 23:14

I know someone who 'eats' it too Grin

Loaferloveforyou · 20/09/2016 23:17

My DP is the noisiest eater in the world. Over the years I've found it endearing (as much I can do anyway). Embrace the 3 gulp tea it makes him who he is!

WorraLiberty · 20/09/2016 23:28

ArmySal it's fascinating isn't it? Grin

I mean in a sort of car crash 'I don't want to look but I can't fucking help it' kind of way.

ArmySal · 20/09/2016 23:55

Grin Exactly Worra!

JammyDodger16 · 21/09/2016 08:02

Ha ha I am trying to embrace it and I know it makes him who he is but my god I get irrational sometimes! I can't stand the sound of people eating in general!

I never say anything to him but actually have to grit my teeth and count to ten to stop me walking out of the room.

Will look out for tea chewers

My hubby does this with water. Takes a massive mouthful then gulps it down a number of times. Most of the time I just ignore it but when he does it if he's woken at night I just want to punch him in the back of the head....

Rosae · 21/09/2016 08:14

My cousin drinks tea sort of through her tongue. Much worse than the gulping. She takes a mouthful and then just sucks her tongue and moves it round her mouth till it's gone. So all you can hear is this horrible slurrping noise.

tibbawyrots · 21/09/2016 08:21

My brother used to swish whatever he was drinking around his mouth like it was mouthwash no matter the drink. It was vile to listen to!

Good thing I haven't seen him for 5 years now...

JammyDodger16 · 21/09/2016 09:14

Good to see the rage in others too!

Cloudspider · 21/09/2016 09:21

Put him on Britains got talent. I have spent the last 10mins trying and it's totally impossible. You have a unique man.Smile

Badmaw · 21/09/2016 09:39

Oh mine slurps his coffee and when I ask why he's slurping he says because it's too hot. Waiting until it's cooled a little isn't an option apparently. Yanbu!

DaphneCanDoBetterThanFred · 21/09/2016 10:02

Oh holy fuck I think I eat my tea sometimes Blush
I shall make a horrible cup of tea to punish myself and apologise to my poor friends in case I've done it in front of them Blush

(It's really useful for getting chocolate etc off your teeth though..)

JammyDodger16 · 21/09/2016 16:08

Ha ha Cloudspider. It's impossible isn't it! I can't do it either

Oysterbabe · 21/09/2016 16:42

Gross, I couldn't listen to that.

My DH eats peanuts one at a time and crunches them really loudly. It takes him about a week to eat a packet.
