To ask if you've ever seen someone get what they deserve?

I was at a wedding in Saturday and there was an ex-couple there.
The ex-H d was emotionally, verbally and financially abusive to his ex-w (witnessed).
She finally left him, gained a stone, had hair and make up done, looked fab and has a hot new man.
Ex-h eyes nearly fell out of his head. He tried to chat to her and she laughed, asked if she knew him and strolled of.
The look on his face was priceless and he just slunk away.
Have you ever seen anyone get what they deserve?

Going on a uk holiday a while back, an idiot kept driving really close and flashing lights to try and take over on a country road, collected friend and drove on, little while later on the M25 said idiot is stood on the hard shoulder with his car in pieces - his was the only car or I wouldn't be so gleeful.

ayeokthen · 19/09/2016 17:16

Funnily enough just last night! Local drug dealer's wife used to swan about in expensive cars/clothes/jewellery lording it over us all, was stunning, "had it all" and just looked down her nose at everyone else (ironically!) he's been jailed for 10 + years and I saw her last night, lost her kids, they've split up, driving an absolute banger of a car, looking awful.

BungoWomble · 19/09/2016 17:22

Ime there ain't much justice in the world so I love telling this one . The town I used to live in had a lot of those boy racer-types, in cheap cars that they'd jazzed up with go-faster stripes and so on, revving their engines, playing loud music and racing around - you know the type who thinks they're IT. One did a wheelspin and rev up the road I was walking along once, with said loud music blaring. Only to screeeeech to a sudden stop when his engine gave way with a loud bang. No one was hurt I should add.

My ex left me for my best friend after three years.
We didn't speak for three years...until he did the same to her and she rang me because I'd understand?!?
I gave her short shrift. I've mellowed now and would be sympathetic, but I was only 23!

pugsake · 19/09/2016 17:28

I can't say I've ever done 120 on the motorway either.

It's stupidity.

I wouldn't be proud of putting my children at risk either. Again it's stupidity Hmm

Queenbean · 19/09/2016 17:31

120mph on a UK motorway is stupid and irresponsible

oldlaundbooth · 19/09/2016 17:34

Hmm, this thread got me thinking.

The evil HR woman was 'let go' from our previous employer. LinkedIn tells me (after 5 months) she is still looking for new challenges.

Kind of sweet.

I'm still waiting for karma to do it's thang on the Director though.

winterinmadeira · 19/09/2016 17:34

Oh yes several times and they were nasty bullies. Often years later though they karma deliver its goods. One incident was a few years ago when a woman who made my life a misery during my school years spoke to one of my closest friends and asked her to ask me to meet her. She'd heard we had similar careers and travelled a lot and thought we could 'catch up'. She'd had lots of issues and was short on friends I think. I said 'sure, we can catch up - tell her to f off'!

It made me feel much better.

timelytess · 19/09/2016 17:38

I've never done 120 mph on a motorway
I have. I was young and had no responsibilities and I loved to drive fast.
It was a long time ago.

And it was fucking terrifying.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/09/2016 17:38

toga do you think that makes you look clever and sophisticated somehow? Because it doesn't, it makes you sound like a twat

I drive a lot of motorway miles every year. Never driven at 120mph

Oblomov16 · 19/09/2016 17:39

No. what goes around comes around? Really? 2 people who did a bad thing. Nothing's happened to the them.

timelytess · 19/09/2016 17:39

Bullies? Oh yes. The girl who made my life hell in secondary school wanted to be friends when we left - tried dressing like me and my friends, tried to be like us. Er... no. Or, ok, but do it without us.

coughingbean · 19/09/2016 17:40

I would never to 120mph on a motorway, and will teach my children to drive responsibly.

e1y1 · 19/09/2016 17:46

Toga

Just hope that when it goes wrong (and it will).

It's only you that gets hurt.

I know that sounds evil as, but to be honest, the thought of someone else getting hurt because you want to be a clever dick just riles me.

Nobody cares.

Queenbean · 19/09/2016 17:48

Even my 18 month old had been significantly quicker than that. She's done one 32 mile journey where we averaged 137mph.

How recklessly dangerous. I echo the poster that says I hope it's only you that gets hurt when it goes wrong and not your innocent daughter or anybody else

HerFaceIsAMapOfTheWorld · 19/09/2016 17:49

no but i hopefully will soon

LimitedSedition · 19/09/2016 17:49

I haven't driven at 120mph down the motorway because I'm not a complete twat with no regard for the lives and safety of others, so don't speak for me, thanks.

TaterTots · 19/09/2016 17:50

A former colleague desperately wanted our manager's job and was prepared to do what he had to to get it - mainly trying to discredit me, as he thought I was his main competition. In the end I was made manager of another team while he carried on waiting for his manager to screw up or jump before she was pushed. In the end he got fed up and walked. She resigned two weeks later - and he had to sit gritting his teeth while he worked his notice Grin

PNGirl · 19/09/2016 17:52

Gobby mouthy head of the gobby mouthy bully clique in high school took the piss out of me for being a swot for 5 years. She turned up to register for the local 6th form (good one, top of the state league table) and was ahead of me in the queue. Watched her stomp back out again and down the road, only for one of her so-called friends to lean over and tell us she had 4 and a half C grades on results day and she needed 5. She'd tried her luck and been told to get lost. That was sweet.

rollonthesummer · 19/09/2016 17:57

How do you get half a c grade?!

rollonthesummer · 19/09/2016 17:59

Must just be the circles I mix in then! Even my 18 month old had been significantly quicker than that. She's done one 32 mile journey where we averaged 137mph. I did get pulled a few weeks back, copper had seen me at well over 100mph on a dual carriageway.

You're not coming across well here!

Mine is a work one - I started a new job & had a great boss who promptly left for pastures new. New boss started and took an instant dislike to me. Made my life hell and I loathed going into work each day. I really liked my team/other colleagues but knew I couldn't continue to work under her so started looking for other work. She clearly decided she wanted nowt more to do with me and tried to 'engineer' me a move out of her team. Mentioned an 'opportunity' for someone to move teams to another office, asked for volunteers clearly hoping I'd go for it. I had a job offer in the pipeline and didn't want to move to another office away from my friends for the last few weeks I hoped I'd be there so said nothing. Despite having at least 4 other volunteers, I was then taken aside and told I was 'volunteered' to go which pissed me off no end seeing as I hadn't volunteered and the picking me to move made it obvious she wanted rid of me - she got a kick out of having that power over me. I was desperate to get my new job offer confirmed before my move date so I could just hand in my notice with a smug smile on my face but missed the deadline by 1 week so moved office and then handed my notice in a week later. I thought nothing more and went onto my current place of work where I've been now 15 years (so was a great move for meGrin). One of the people who I worked with for that 1 week between moving offices then joined my team in my new job a few years afterwards and told me that my handing in my notice after 1 week cause such a major shit storm with the various managers - they were convinced my loathsome boss knew I was leaving and decided to stitch them up by dumping me on them rather than lose someone from her team (she didn't have a clueGrin) - she wanted to make name for herself in her new job but unfortunately due to my resignation the name she acquired wasn't too complimentary from then on Grin. I had a hearty chuckle when I heard that...HaloGrin
