Fucking drones!

Surely IANBU to think that nobody should be flying a drone so close to my windows that it gets stuck in my tree right outside? And that if they have, the fully grown man who did it shouldn't tell his son (sounded about 11) to climb over my 6ft fence and climb up my tree to get it?! And stand on the other side of the fence silently while I'm asking his son what he's playing at? I thought I was being robbed!

Are there really Sleep? A few people round here seem to have them but this is the first time I've known one to actually be flown into my garden. I absolutely hate the things!

If you'd seen me trying to hang the bird feeder last week Bailey, you'd completely get why there was no chance of overtaking the kid asnd getting it first. I'm not exactly nimble! Grin

Nothing wrong with a drone used properly I really, really, want one but can't afford to buy a decent one so I can't have one. If the kid was in your tree shout really loud at him that if he damages your tree he will have to pay for the damage. With luck he will shit himself as he falls out of the tree.

I felt bad for the lad in the end John. He had clearly been told nobody would see and expected his dad to pipe up. I only even realised his dad was actually stood on the other side of the fence when the lad struggled to get down and the dad said he'd manage it rather than show his face.

I wonder if this bit...

However, you must avoid flying it within 150 metres of a congested area and 50 metres of a person, vessel, vehicle or structure not under the control of the pilot.

...means I'm allowed to take the pressure washer to it if it happens again!

If you just so happened to be washing the moss off your tree, it wouldn't be your fault if something was in the way. Wink

DH handed over the controls of ds's (7) last weekend, to dd (4) who promptly flew it over the neighbours fence, never to be seen again. I will add this wasn't a real drone as it didn't have a camera. They are tricky little buggers to control from what I witnessed. After I went batshit at DH for allowing dd to pilot, he and ds had to knocking on all the neighbors doors to see if it could be found. It couldn't.
