Noisey teens in playpark, swearing, intimidating ... aibu?

For the past hour there has been a group of about 10 teens in the park next to my house. They have been throwing the swings over the top of the bars so they can't be used, swearing, shouting, being generally intimidating.

Have rung 101 but the police said nobody is available.

I went out, with the intention of speaking to them and asking them to tone it down and think of other people, but bottled it.

So how many of you would do it - talk to a big group of teens behaving like this? I feel like a wuss but am getting angry - it's been like this all summer on and off. So disrespectful.

Yeah be careful with tone, conversational, not accusational, but yes I would say something if it's really bothering me.

I'd hope someone would say something to my kids if they were acting the same way.

I'm not overly surprised that the police couldn't come. Just yell out "can you keep it down please, baby sleeping, thanks." Easier said than done but better than sitting and seething.

And surely teens know if they're shouting 'fucking wankers' and similar in a public park with houses all around, people will hear them? And people don't want to hear them?

It's horrible at the moment. People can't seem to enjoy the park without effing and blinding everywhere.

Yes, try talking to them. I hope mine wouldn't swear in public like that but I wouldn't lay bets. Teenagers forget what's reasonable sometimes and need reminding. Try talking to them as Lunchbox says
