To worry that most people think this

In response to another thread about how shit parenting is. It's made me feel really depressed. I've just had my second and don't feel the way everybody on the thread does, but worry that at some point I will. It almost sounds like it's inevitable.

Do most people feel like this about parenting?

It can be quite hard to say in RL that you are finding parenting hard, so there's a certain amount of catharsis in being able to vent on a MN thread about shitty parenting stuff

Yep Sat your analogy is probably better.

No thread Police here, it's forum rules about TAAT Halo

I've been a parent for 5 years and I've never hated it. Even when she had colic. My life is better because I'm a parent. The good always outweighs the chappy bits.

Crappy ^

There are lots of threads that are offshoots of others though in a "this thread got me thinking..." Sort of way.

The TAAT ban is usually to do with threads set up to gossip about posts on another thread, or raise an objection about a particular thread rather than on the thread itself, or troll hunt. IME anyway. This might come under that but not sure it does. It would have been insensitive for the op to have raised her own fears on that thread, but doesn't mean she shouldn't start her own.

I love being a parent. Love it. That doesn't mean that it's all tea parties and smiles and bubbles and hugs. Some parts are proper bollocks. But the ups outweigh the downs by a cunty mile. Just because some folk think or feel something doesn't mean everyone does.

WhooooAmI24601 · 14/09/2016 20:30

*I may have meant country mile. But cunty mile works too.

Threads are self-selecting in that they attract people who feel strongly about them.

Babies and toddlers are such hard work, I have no idea how I got through it.

I adore my life and even more so my children now that I have a 10 and 13 year old. I'm close enough to the toddler years that I still get an illicit thrill from sleeping till 9 or 10 on a weekend.
