We'll have sob stories galore from the contestants and adverts every two minutes.

15 minutes of adverts, whole thing split into four not three sections, people who can't bake to save their lives (like CDWM but baking), and engineered rows between contestants.

I'm out.

LunaLoveg00d · 12/09/2016 19:15

Won't watch it if it's on ITV. Would consider it on Channel 4. ITV is too low-brow, too commercial, too focused on audience votes, sob stories, dumbing it down and blimmin talent shows run by Simon Cowell.

GBBO, brought to you by Jus-Rol! No more soggy bottoms!! Angry

Bubblebloodypop · 12/09/2016 19:16

I'm completely gutted. Netflix would be okay but ITV and all the adverts would be awful.

harderandharder2breathe · 12/09/2016 19:19

Gutted! I love bake off and it's currently charming and free of sob stories, don't want it to get full of ads and "Doris is baking these biscuits in memory of her dead goldfish but Beryl is allergic to seafood will she sabotage?! Shock twist! Cat love Maureen spiked the fish with catnip and let her fifteen cats into the tent"

emotionsecho · 12/09/2016 19:19

I've just tried to find the e-mail address for Love Productions but it is not on their website, they are on Twitter which I'm not may have to join to express my extreme dissatisfaction with this move!

LunaLoveg00d · 12/09/2016 19:22

According to something in today's Guardian, BSkyB own 70% of Love Productions. So Sky 1 perhaps.

Not sure that's any better, TBH.

BigTroubleInLittleChina · 12/09/2016 19:24

Dermot O'Bleary to host it. Pant and Dec giggling on the side lines.

James I-Cant-Present-Without-Reading-The-Autocue Martin as guest presenter

We had an Irish version on a channel with ads and it was crap. Because of the ad breaks, there was only time for two challenges per episode, so signature and technical, or technical and showstopper. ITV would ruin it if they did the same.

EverySongbirdSays · 12/09/2016 19:29

emotions have a look on linkedin for people who work in positions of power there maybe?

possibly extreme

ChrissyHynde · 12/09/2016 19:29

ITV,,,,,,,no no no! None starter for me, I wouldn't even bother to watch .

emotionsecho · 12/09/2016 19:30

Thanks Every I'll do that, I might be getting a tad over invested!

LunaLoveg00d · 12/09/2016 19:31

Lots of bitching about it on Twitter, nobody thinks GBBO leaving the Beeb is a positive move.

raviolidreaming · 12/09/2016 19:33

Sob stories, scripted disasters, and having to go to the judge's homes for audition stages Sad

BennyTheBall · 12/09/2016 19:34

Like any program on ITV, we will record it or pause it long enough to watch it and skip all the adverts.

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 12/09/2016 19:37

YANBU

jay55 · 12/09/2016 19:37

I'd love it to be on Netflix but doubt I'd bother on itv.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 12/09/2016 19:41

This is the worst news I've heard all day. I love GBBO and it won't be the same. It never is. Bargainhunt was never the same after it moved from daytime to primetime Wink Grin

RumAppleGinger · 12/09/2016 19:41

Well this news has fucking ruined my day. It will no doubt go to Sky which I refuse to pay for as it extortionate and basically just one massive advert.

If it goes to Amazon/Netflix and keeps the same line up of presenters I'd continue to watch but if it's ploughed with ads it will be shit.

redroses86 · 12/09/2016 19:43

I will refuse to watch on ITV also.
We'd have to put up with a terrible 'competition' and reminders to enter it every 10 mins too.

Terrible news. Shame on the production company for selling out.

BaggyCheeks · 12/09/2016 19:46

FFS. I wonder if it would go to Amazon or Netflix à la Clarkson and co? If it was on Amazon or Netflix I would probably still watch it, provided they don't mess with the formula. ITV, C4 or Sky 1 - it will be shit. 30 minutes of baking, 30 mins of adverts and recaps and sob stories.

LunaLoveg00d · 12/09/2016 19:47

The only thing I am currently watching on ITV is Victoria, and I watch it on a Monday on catch up so I don't see the ads. Watched Downton in the same way.

ITV could completely disappear from my television tomorrow and I wouldn't miss it at all.

OddBoots · 12/09/2016 19:50

Don't the versions of it in other countries only have two bakes a week rather than three in order to make room for adverts?

RepentAtLeisure · 12/09/2016 19:55

If they introduce phone voting, I'm out.

RepentAtLeisure · 12/09/2016 19:55

If they introduce phone voting, I'm out.

RiverTam · 12/09/2016 19:55

Uurrgghh, that's so disappointing. Endless lengthy ad breaks and low rent slabs a-go-go, I reckon.
