To deliberately guess the wrong age?

A woman I don't like was just banging on about how no one ever believes how old she is and she still gets ID'd. She then asked me to guess how old she is. I actually already knew she turned 30 this summer. But because she'd been drivelling on about it for hours and frankly she gets on my tits, I looked her up and down and said, '35?'

Am I evil? Grin

No just a little PA and immature Smile

PinkSquash · 12/09/2016 14:03

Grin I like your style

squoosh · 12/09/2016 14:03

Nah.

I'd have done the very same thing. And I'd have used my best doe eyed 'oh did I get it wrong?' innocent expression too.

TaterTots · 12/09/2016 14:04

PA?

Haha!

Frogers · 12/09/2016 14:05

I got asked to guess my colleagues weight the other day.

I refused, obviously!

OddBoots · 12/09/2016 14:05

YANBU, anyone who asks people to guess their age is asking for trouble.

squoosh · 12/09/2016 14:06

Asked to guess someone's weight?

Now that's just asking for trouble!

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 12/09/2016 14:06

PA - passive aggressive

DerekSprechenZeDick · 12/09/2016 14:06

I do this to anyone who asks me to guess. I'm shit at guessing anyway

Arseicle · 12/09/2016 14:09

Hours? Really, I don't think you could get more than five mins conversation out of that topic, less if the other person is being arsey about it.

Is it a long time since you got carded ,OP? Feeling a bit wrinkly?

5moreminutes · 12/09/2016 14:10

She was fishing for compliments, might have been nicer to "guess" her true age but tempting to do what you did. How many people played her game and pretended to think she was 21? People usually knock 5-10 years off their real guess in case of accidentally upsetting someone, but she probably thinks they don't in her case...

acasualobserver · 12/09/2016 14:11

You could have said, "No point guessing, I already know. You're thirty."

ProseccoBitch · 12/09/2016 14:15

Haha! It's her own fault for attention seeking, well done.

confuugled1 · 12/09/2016 14:17

I'm hoping that she said no, you've got it wrong, guess again. And that you replied, OK well I was trying to be nice and underestimate so 38? 40? Grin

squoosh · 12/09/2016 14:17

I once worked with someone who used to say things like 'ugh, another person just told me I look like Charlize Theron. It's getting boring now'.

Grin
DogsAndCatsAndThings · 12/09/2016 14:31

Nah it's quite funny. How did she react? Does she look young for her age or is she deluded?

WhatchaMaCalllit · 12/09/2016 14:47

sqoosh - would that have been when Charlize was in "Monster" or something else, would you say???

toomuchtooold · 12/09/2016 15:26

See I don't think getting ID'd at 30 is all that cool (I got ID'd for the last time at 33) - it just means you have one of those weirdo childlike faces that will hit 36 and instantly look ancient.

carefreeeee · 12/09/2016 15:33

I have one of those faces mentioned above. IDing suddenly stopped at 30 and now I look 10 years older and really wrinkly :(

i8E314 · 12/09/2016 15:35

No yanbu.
i look young for my age but not everybody does so it'd assholeish to brag. Also everybody looks young at 30.
will she l9ok young at 45?

TanteRose · 12/09/2016 15:41

Her face was a picture Grin The best bit was everyone else knew she was 30 and sharply drew breath!

I'd do the same. Guess my age is only acceptable in people under 10 or over 100.
