AIBU to this DH is being precious about the sodding BBQ

Today he finally decided to clean the BBQ. Something he wanted done, not me. Lots of huffing and puffing, moodiness all the while doing this (even though I do all the DIY / garden maintenance/ jet hosing etc without being grumpy about it)

I then asked if it would it be ready for our BBQ tonight as my sister is over for dinner, and he said he didn't want to use it again this year as its clean now. He seemed to think I was out of order to want to use it again this summer! Which turned into a barney as I said we'd have many more bbqs this year and he got very uppity! Seems a ridiculous argument now I write this

AIBU or is he being stupid? I feel really annoyed!

Why bother cleaning it if not to use it.

Does he only clean it when it's about to be retired for the winter? . Salmonella in a bun...

Next time he goes to get a clean plate, tell him he can't use it, it's clean now and you don't want it used again until Christmas.

Yabothbu. If you hadn't told dh about other bbq then he was being reasonable in cleaning it for winter.

I hate cleaning the bbq and will often buy a disposable one to put off using the big one because of that. So I get his feelings. But I wouldn't get uppity about using it again after if it had been planned or too big a do for a disposable. X
