To think DP is being a bad birth partner?!

We had to get up and drive to hospital at 2am. I'm not in established labour but have been told to wait as contractions strong and painful.

DP has moaned about how tired he is, hasn't asked how I am at all and pretty much slept since we got here.

He's just woken up moaning about how much his back hurts from the chair and asked what's going on with the midwife and plan. I am tired and in pain and told him to go and ask her. He then asked why I was being such an arsehole and did I even want him there....

I'm fuming and really upset.

Oh look at that little face! Boy or girl? I feel terrible for calling your DH a bastard earlier but I felt strangely protective of you having given birth recently myself, I'm sorry. Congratulations!

Dh was great as a birth companion. He did fall asleep on the floor 48 hours during the epic that was the birth of ds1 but I'd had an epidural by then and didn't care. And he stuffed a sandwich down at 56 hours in as we were on our way to theatre which annoyed me somewhat. I think I said something like "I can't believe you are eating at a time like this" and he whimpered something about being starved. Smile

BarbarianMum · 10/09/2016 21:09

Oh and congratulations! Hour and a half - I'm jealous impressed.

ghostyslovesheep · 10/09/2016 21:13

how beautiful is he Grin congratulations

stop making me broody I am 46!

Ex DH was useless but I had long labours and most of them where just dull - until the final C-section drama - not a lot to do sat in a chair for 24 hrs - I didn't want anyone to talk to me to touch me - poor sod was twiddling his thumbs!

Farmmummy · 10/09/2016 21:17

Hey OP - no advice, but just wanted to wish you luck. Hope your little one comes out to play healthily and you are feeling wonderful afterwards. Let us know if it's pink or blue? X
