AIBU to think...

If you are going to donate toys, that you at least make sure they are clean.

Or at least not full of old food

My mum has dropped off 3 boxes of old toys. Ones that her son has outgrown so nothing old and tatty

I'm very appreciative of it all though stuck at where to put it all and I keep finding crushed chocolate cake in the carpet.

We don't have chocolate cake in the house so I was confused as to why I was finding it. One of the toys that she has donated is full of Swiss roll and it's going everywhere.

I'm now finding a lot of them have some sort of food in it somewhere or they are sticky.

AIBU to think she could have made sure it was food free?

"her son"? You mean your younger brother? Confused

I'm sure it was an accident.
