My daughter (14) and her best friend are holding a sweet sale and are selling fizzy drinks at school in a few weeks but they haven't come up with a good charity they'd like to support yet, 50% of all of the profits will go to the charity and 50% will go towards buying supplies as they will be doing this once a month until the end of Y11.
They want to support a different charity each month. We will be putting names of charities in a hat and picking them out each month.

Sorry for Facebook link but it looks like their website isn't running quite right.

Spread a Smile is dedicated to improving the time spent by seriously ill children and teenagers in hospital. I work on a children's ward and have seen what a difference this brilliant charity make.

Mary's Meal is feeding more than 1 million children in Africa, Asia and refugee camps every day at their schools ensuring they get an education as well as being fed. Food is purchased locally to support the farmers there and to ensure the children get food they know and eat.
The charity is run from a garden shed in rural Argyll.

The Grafters Club

It's for burns injured children.

My ds was 11 months old when he was set on fire, as was my husband but to a lesser extend, ds needed multiple surgeries, and skin grafts, if it wasn't for this club, I don't know how we would have got through it.

They don't get much funding even tho it's the only burns support unit in the North East and Cumbria, most of the monies raised is from families who have endured burn trauma.

Another vote for Headway. They're marvellous and provide much needed support for sufferers of brain injuries. What a wonderful thing your daughter and her friend are doing Smile
