To think Madonna didn't get very good legal advice

To think considering the amount of money she had she didn't realise she was very very unlikely to win the custody over rococo

In the uk childrens wishes are taken into account from about 14 and at 16 Barr proven abuse or neglect there would be no was a judge would rule in her favour

As going against there wishes often lead to negative behaviour running away Ect

My thoughts were only that maybe she thought it to be a lot like the us were often the child up to 18 has no say and court orders in custody are enfosed strictly till then

Any way seeing as guy has a stay at home wife one would of thought it's a much better envoirment that being looked after by staff whiles she's is on tour when I believed the first issues arouse

From what I can see guy seems to live a more normal life if you can call it that than Madonna

No idea but rococo sounds like two celeb kids rolled into one

If he's sixteen isn't he legally allowed to just leave home like a lot of my mates did? Live off his birthday and Christmas money? Seems odd that a judge can decide this for him.

It's silly to assume she didn't get good legal advice: she may have been given the advice but chosen to ignore it, we've all had clients like that! Also sometimes people who have plenty of money decide to pursue a case they know they'll lose because they want to be sign to "fight" - ie she wants rocco to know she really wanted him to live with her, and can afford to spend the money on making that clear - again I know of clients who've taken that approach.

I assume she's just used to getting her own way

I think it's very sad that it went public and got a bit nasty.
It must have been a nasty shock for her but I don't think either party can be entirely blameless in their battle.
Just have to hope the children are all happy now.

I'm not sure what I would do. Like her I think I would be worried about schooling. I think that was her main concern. But when only 2 years until an adult seems a bit crazy to go this far in court with it.

Issues around residency and access are not as straightforward as where a child will have as their primary residence. There are other issues such as maintenance and access to consider and determine. It's not binary.

As the hearings where held in private (in the main), we don't know what issues the judge had to determine but it is unlikely to be as straightforward as which pate t was Rocconti reside with primarily. In fact, the parties could have agreed that but been unable to agree a access etc. Further, due to Rocco's age, it's very likely that he was separately represented and his views and wishes had to be canvassed. That adds an extra layer of complexity to any proceedings

Finally, to start with, there were arguments over what court has jurisdiction (British or American) and there were competing actions brought by both mother and father in different courts.

So it's not as simple as saying that Madonna had "bad" legal advice. Finally, as a solicitor, you can advise clients about prospects of success but they can still decide to carry on with the action. Given the calibre of lawyers and barristers instructed by Madonna (publically reported), I can say with some certainty that she will not have received crap advice!

She didn't want him to leave his schooling but then she had not really been fair on him with all the travel and tutoring. Some kids like that and some want something more stable. I would hope I would listen to what mine want and pray I had raised a sensible child!

Plus whether you like Madonna or not she's obviously a savvy businesswoman and has played the media well for decades - I highly doubt she couldn't understand our system!

Let's just be happy for rocco and the other children that it's resolved now

Frankly I agree it must be a mine field when parents live on entirely different continents I can't even begin to imagine what a legal mess it has been.

He's 16 so not sure what school she's no about one would imagine he's lack of interest would of stemmed from having endless staff trying to make him go rather than her

Often you think famous parents is awsome but often it runins the children

Think guy seems a lot more normal I think also that he most likey can walk around London with out security or people wanting his autograph helps a lot

No I think with school she had him enrolled in one in New York, and tutored on tour. She wanted him to complete his education there. Their education system is completely different to ours and that would have been his exam year - so god only knows if he even took exams. In the UK he will have to stay in education till 18 or get a job. It's all completely different from the US and I would have had all of the same concerns as her

There is that US actress who's children are currently with her ex in France I think but the case has been heard in France and he's won custody she is desprate for the case to be heard in the US

I have read that one. It's a bit more complicated as she keeps refusing to return the children to France so she lost custody

But that means he was at school and eveytime she went on tour pulled him out of school to be tutored on his lone some

I have a 16 year old and I don't think he would find that frilling at all

rococo and Rocconti are great names.

I feel very sorry for him tbh it must seem a lot of fun not going to school flying around when little but after a while it must become very tiresome

May famous people's children are very very messed up

She's used to getting her own and decided there and then that she was going to go to court.
She was incredibly stupid imo to drag this through the courts and she was lucky her Ds still speaks to her after all her drama.

Madonna is crazy. Rocco clearly wanted to stay with his Dad and she insisted on battling it out. More fool her.

This thread makes me very uncomfortable.

These are real people, with private lives you know nothing whatsoever about.

Reading a few tabloid newspapers doesn't give you an insight into their lives.

We have no idea what Madonna is like as a Mother or Guy Ritchie is like as a Father.
