Not the best at IT have a Facebook page which I would like to keep, however I would like to change my name to make it less ovious who I am. Can any one advise the best way to go about this.

I have no idea but I Googled for you...

To change your name on Facebook:

Review our name standards.
Click in the top right of Facebook and select Settings.
Click Name.
Enter your name and click Review Change.
Enter your password and click Save Changes.

I put my middle name as my surname...

Just a warning - if you go by a completely different pseudonym, Facebook may lock and ban your account, as you're meant to use your real name. They don't actively check, as far as I know though, they rely on people reporting the fake names, so as long as your friends are decent, you should be fine.

You can't do it anymore. You have to have your own real name. They don't even allow nick names anymore.

A load of my colleagues have fake names and nick names, names deliberately misspelled and middle names so far no one's had any problems

I don't have my real name on Facebook, they once asked me why and when I explained they unlocked my account.
