To despair of ever getting my glasses to fit properly.

Got some new glasses about two months ago. Normally it takes a few tweaks to get the fit right, but this time I've been back upwards of 20 times trying to get them adjusted so they don't rub my nose red raw.

The problem is that now they've been 'tweaked' with varying degrees of competence by so many people they are a mangled mess. The notepads and arms are in an array of weird and wonderful positions and they still aren't comfortable. Deep red welts on my nosePlus now they fit unevenly on my face.

There's a three month refund policy so I can get my money back still, but I had a hell of a game getting a pair that suit me. However the tweaking and fiddling (done by the sales assistants rather than the opticians) isn't get me anywhere.

Is it possible to do a complete refit from scratch? Or once they've got bent out of shape is it pretty much it?

Were they expensive? If I were you, I'd get a refund a start again (even if it's a fresh pair in the same style...)

My favorite and most comfortable glasses are Lindberg ones. Yes they were expensive but I have worn then almost continuously for 20 years (I have others too for variery) so the cost per wear is very low!

Cheers. Not expensive no, I've had a very similar style in the past without any problems, but this pair are agony.

Me too cream. A perfect storm of a wide head, sensitive skin and uneven ears.

I can't stand nose pads. I always get acrylic/plastic frames that don't have any - much comfier, but do need to pop in every few months to get the arms adjusted as they tend to loosen and start slipping after a while. Worth it though IMO

Joining for solidarity with the wide head, uneven ears that are very far forward and narrow nose gang!

I'd go for a refund and start again even if it's with a new pair of the same style and insist only the optician adjusts!

I'm going through this at the moment. Iv got 2 pairs b1g1f from a certain optician.

Neither fit one really hurts my nose to the point the bone aches from the nosepad up and round the eye socket, the other pair are better but still hurt the nose leaving a very deep red divot on both sides and also pain behind one ear (which Iv just pressed and is still sore hours later)

I think it's because Iv had my nose broken so many times so it's not a "normal" nose.

Are they too heavy? Some glasses I just can't wear with my prescription because they are too heavy on my nose.

It's a dispensing optician rather than a optician you need to fit them properly. Most opticians haven't adjusted or fitted a pair of glasses since they left uni. In my experience anyway. It's the dispensing opticians and optical assistants who are trained in the fitting of the glasses. Get a refund and start again.

My last frames were titanium and very light and comfortable.
My new glasses are heavier and leave deep grooves in my nose and behind my ears but they've been adjusted as much as they can be so I just alternate them with my second pair which are a bit lighter but not so stylish

Start again with titanium frames if possible.

They are heavier than my old pair now you mention it. That's a good tip re titanium though.

Ugh I'm so with you. I got new glasses recently and was careful to get ones with plastic frames as metal ones hurt my ears. Didn't realise the nose pads would be so irritating though. They almost hurt when they're on my nose, maybe that part of my nose is just uber sensitive?

If they're still uncomfy I'd throw in the towel and get another pair. Alternatively ask for the nosepads to be changed, it might the the material they are made of is particularly irritating-some people find silicone drags the skin a bit and it uncomfy.

They're replacing the notepads with biofuel ones which apparently are good for those with sensitive snouts.
