I am in rather a lot of discomfort but can't get a GP appointment until Friday. I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up as to how I can deal with the pain. I had this a couple of years ago, and I was diagnosed with inflammation and an infection in my stomach. Pylori helicobacter??? I had to take a shed load of antibiotics.

I have a hiatus hernia and acid reflux. Triggers for setting it off are large meals, fried food, spicy food and alcohol. Stress too, I think.
I am on 30mg lansaprazole (sp?).
Yesterday morning I had a cup of black coffee and within a half hour began to feel really ill. I got home and went to bed. I was in quite a bit of pain with my stomach but it passed at about 7pm. I ate a small piece of cheese then and other than sips of water that's all I had yesterday. This morning I felt OK and had scrambled eggs for breakfast. All good and just sipped water. ( I was worried in case it was the coffee that upset me yesterday)
About a half an hour ago I had a handful of mixed nuts and now I'm feeling rough again. My stomach feels as if I've been kicked by a horse.
I have tramadol and paracetamol in the house. Could either of these help?

Ruby - oh right, thank you. Yeah, stand corrected. Very vague memory at present.

It is a treatment for PHB though because it's anti-bacterial. It's why big pharma got so vexed by his discovery. He was making some antacids/pepto/ulcer treatments redundant.
