To think this is disgusting.

Over my boyfriends house and his family are eating their dinner. His mum can't finish hers and offers the remainder of her corn on the cob around that she had already eaten some of. No one else wants it so his brothers girlfriends has it.

Am I the only one that thinks she's vile? Boyfriends mum had had her mouth on that then she takes it. Boak.

Ahhh so you do hate her.

Willywolly · 30/08/2016 19:57

his bothers girlfriend being disgusting.

You're MIL was offering it around so surely she's disgusting too? Or is it just SIL being disgusting becuase you don't like her?

crossparsley · 30/08/2016 19:59

Anyone else open this thread hoping it was something they did often?

Not me, but it's not vile, nor disgusting. Have you really never had a glut from someone else's coke bottle? What about baguettes, which all sorts of invisible-filth-encrusted hands have torn?

I have a lovely big knife so if strangers were watching I might have cut off the chewed bit (assuming people eat the correct round-and-round rather than cartoon all-the-way-along-way) but generally I would chop them in half to get two stumpy cobs before or after cooking to avoid this.

This ^

Seeing as this thread is bloody boring and pointless and pretty much just a massive dig at SIL yes I said that to be a bitch for doing something that really doesn't matter why don't you give us the goss on why you don't like her?

HermioneJeanGranger · 30/08/2016 20:01

Sounds like you have an issue with your SIL to me.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 30/08/2016 20:01

God, mumsnet shrieking at a bit of shared food!!

Jeez, this place

Gatehouse77 · 30/08/2016 20:01

I couldn't/wouldn't do it but I don't judge others that do.
It repulses me but that doesn't mean it is repulsive!

balence49 · 30/08/2016 20:02

Don't like corn on the cob. But I would do that. I'd do it even more if I had one of my more precious "clean" friends round... Just to amuse myself. Equally I enjoy letting the dog lick the plates. They do go on a hot dishwasher cycle tho.

SilverBat · 30/08/2016 20:03

Same genepool sharing of bodily fluids!
Just saying 😀

LuluJakey1 · 30/08/2016 20:04

I think it's pretty disgusting. I wouldn't do it- even with DH.

CafeCremeEtCroissant · 30/08/2016 20:04

There are people I'd do this with & others I wouldn't. MIL type person I wouldn't.

I'd think 'sharing it' was a bit Bleurgh, but I wouldn't think the person was vile.

(Unless it was my SIL - then yes, I'd think she was vile, but then I can't stand her 😁)

EmmaMacgill · 30/08/2016 20:05

Agree with OMG This is getting boring now.
Come on let us know why you really hate her

Not something I would do but vile is taking it a bit far.

claraschu · 30/08/2016 20:06

Brother's girlfriend is kissing someone who came out of your MIL's vagina. She is also (possibly) eating pieces of another animal's flesh. Now that's disgusting.

NerrSnerr · 30/08/2016 20:06

I doubt I would even notice this. There must be a backstory why you don't like her?

LotsOfShoes · 30/08/2016 20:06

Nope, not vile or disgusting. The kind of thing you do with family.

honeyroar · 30/08/2016 20:07

How on Earth do you eat corn on the cob to get drool all over it?? I I just bite mine, it's not a bloody ice cream!

AddUpToNothing · 30/08/2016 20:07

Meh... I can't get worked up about this. And it certainly isn't vile...

I've finished a corn in the cob my daughter had stared before, didn't give it a second thought. Couldn't let that buttery goodness go to waste Grin

CafeCremeEtCroissant · 30/08/2016 20:07

Lulu. Not even with your DH? Don't you kiss him or do other things with bodily fluids that are far more intimate?

BennyTheBall · 30/08/2016 20:08

It's a bit déclassé, but I would avert my gaze whilst judging.

My inlaws used to put their roasting pan on the floor for the dog to lick! They soon stopped after I shrieked "OMG the dog is licking the roasting pan!!" the first time I had Sunday lunch with them.

MrsUnderwood · 30/08/2016 20:10

No, it's not vile. If she'd stuck it up her bum it would have been vile.

BastardGoDarkly · 30/08/2016 20:11

MumOnTheRun not all of mumsnet no.

LucyFuckingPevensie · 30/08/2016 20:11

I think you just don't like your boyfriends sil / family.
It's not something I would do, but I wouldn't get as worked up as you about it op.

Are you always this tetchy ? Grin

JellyBelli · 30/08/2016 20:12

Everyone says they wont eat the toddlers left over food or from the same spoon, but they do.
Those two people are related, so they dont find it disgusting. You would share food with your BF, its like that.
