Seeing a slow cooker fills me with horror. It was the sign of the dreaded casserole! Angry

AGL. I'm sure you do. But to me, slow-cookers are like an unexploded bomb. Am not much of a chef.

AverageGayLad · 30/08/2016 19:10

Why a bomb, Jess?

VanillaSugar · 30/08/2016 19:14

I am deadly serious. It was a wedding present so 16 years old. We replaced the mattress 2 years ago and moved house twice and that buggered the bed.

I love my slow cooker.

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 30/08/2016 19:15

Don't you have to be really careful about removing the lid?

carbcraver · 30/08/2016 19:18

GrinGrin

Caught up on the bed thread Wink

AverageGayLad · 30/08/2016 19:21

No? Confused I just lift it off

MyDressIsInferiorBlue · 30/08/2016 19:26

jess I think, you are thinking of pressure cookers.

Vanilla did it not come with a longer guarantee than that for the price?

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 30/08/2016 19:35

blue. You may be right.

I get anxious about lifting the lid off a Pot Noodle.

PortiaCastis · 30/08/2016 19:37

Apparently one or two have " missed the point" on the bed thread.
If it's pointed I don't want it !

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 30/08/2016 19:38
Confused

I think you can leave a slow cooker on indefinitely, particularly if it's left in ON or Keep Warm. The good might not be that nice though. As a rule of thumb, 4hours on high, 8 hours in low. Or 6 hours in low, depending on the size of the portion of food.

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 30/08/2016 19:39

portia. I have strayed dangerously tonight. Stick to the fold.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 30/08/2016 19:40

Jess, where else have you gone?

OP posts:
VanillaSugar · 30/08/2016 19:41

Back to the bed - I think it broke because the new mattress is too heavy for it and also we moved house and it looks like the removal men stacked the chassis ( or whatever you call it) upright and a wardrobe fell into it. The iron bed frame is bent in the middle.

AverageGayLad · 30/08/2016 19:41

Vanilla I'll be at uni for 8 hours so if I put it on low is it okay to let it cook while I'm out?

PortiaCastis · 30/08/2016 19:43

Vanilla There is a book with examples of wardrobes and beds Grin

PortiaCastis · 30/08/2016 19:45

I have posted a link to the bed warehouse
Just to be helpful you understand

AverageGayLad · 30/08/2016 19:46

Of course, Portia Grin

PortiaCastis · 30/08/2016 19:47

Grin dirt cheap only go up to £1190

VanillaSugar · 30/08/2016 19:53

Yup AGL Google some recipes, add in an extra inch of water if you're worried about it drying out and boom. You'll be fine.
