I know everyone hates it. Dumbed down TV for the masses etc. But it still gets me. Watching it now on catch up and am sobbing, happy, warm etc. Am I the only one?

I don't think most things on TV are as fake as the SyCo stuff though. Strictly is already made up of celebs and they don't hide the former jobs of the ones who were dancers or performers. Bakeoff as far as I know is still normal people (I don't watch either of them). It's totally sold as a big break that can be yours if you stand with everyone else outside a stadium for 9 hours when most of them never went near a queue.

Runny · 29/08/2016 18:00

I think the reason Strictly is now more popular is that it doesn't try and be something it's not. It's a load of cheesy nonsense, but it knows it and doesn't pretend otherwise. It's also a lot nicer to watch, there's none of the nastiness that seems to permanate from the X Factor.

MitzyLeFrouf · 29/08/2016 18:05

But it's so dull.......

WankingMonkey · 29/08/2016 18:18

I still enjoy it. I really wish they would stop with the cringey montages to make you feel sorry for the contestants though ESPECIALLY at the auditions stage. Honestly, if this makes me heartless so be it, I do not care if your great uncle Herbet the hamster died a week ago..I want to see how well you sing/perform. Nothing else comes into it.

Runny · 29/08/2016 18:23

How can anyone say Strictly is dull?!

It's glittery, feel good, camp and cheesy awesomeness!!!

Deadsouls · 29/08/2016 18:32

I like it better now this year as Louis, Nicole and Sharon are back.

Deadsouls · 29/08/2016 18:33

And Dermot!!!!

ForalltheSaints · 29/08/2016 18:35

YABU.
Support real music and real entertainment, and those without these talents pursuing careers they have the skill for. Do not complain about poor exam results or those from abroad working in the UK if you pander to such shows which discourage real school work.

x2boys · 29/08/2016 18:46

oh god the sob storys there was one years ago whose wife had sadly died leaving him to bring up their baby daughter he had a distinctly average voice but got through to the finals because everytime things started to look shakey for him he would mention his deceased wife he also avoided being voted out of the bottom two a couple of times when he really should have gone because of his tragic story yeah i know i,m heart less but either its a talent contest or not.

Mummaaaaaah · 29/08/2016 18:48

Dermot. Drool.

Iv not watched it in years and years..However I will watch it this year and have watched the past two nights because I like the judges. I don't know wtf he was thinking last year. I also have a bit of a fancy for Dermot ha.

pinkieandperkie · 29/08/2016 18:53

I've been going off the X factor the last couple of years. I decided to tune in as I quite like Sharon Osborne but five minutes in and I just couldn't do it. I think I'm over it now.

MrsHam13 · 29/08/2016 18:55

I absolutely despise strictly..It bores the life out me.

pinkieandperkie · 29/08/2016 18:56

Me too Mrs.
