to ask where you sell your baby clothes?

Sorry, I know it isn't really an aibu
I have branded baby clothes to sell (Next, Jojo Mamen etc). Good quality. I want to sell it to put money in dd piggy bank.
Where do you sell yours? There is a shop locally but they take 40%.

Tried gumtree but nothing! I'm selling cardigans for £3, trousers for £2.50.

I don't have an ebay account as I'm not keen but will set one up if you all successfully sell stuff there!

Any hints and tips? The clothes are great condition and I donate loads to charity but this time I'd like to make a little money!

Try a nearly new sale. You usually hire a table for a fee or have to give an percentage of sales to organisers.

The NCT are most well known, but there is also a group called mum2mum markets that organise sales nationally.

Failing that it's carboot sales and "cash for clothes" places where you will get a token amount back, but better than nothing.

They don't go for much I'm afraid. I've just sold a huge bag for £10 on eBay. I wanted them to be used as they still have loads of wear left. If they hadn't sold I'd have donated them somewhere

There are specialist Facebook selling groups for selling Jojo, Next, Joules, Boden and many other brands.

Haven't sold any yet as DD is only 8w old but I've bought the brands the you mention from eBay when getting stuff for her so that would be my first port of call as a buyer looking to buy second hand.

Ebay is ok for mid brand or designer stuff, I have sold a lot of next stuff on there and it can sell well (if you have a lot to sell that is). I usually list at £3 plus postage, and after ebay fees taken get say £2 per item, so if you sell ten or more things you may get £20. Bear in mind not everything will sell you may need to list more. lower brand stuff eg supermarket own brand, the cheaper end of the market I just wouldn't bother.

Up to you whether you think it's worth all that to get £20. I've had some amazing sales on eg next denim baby pinafores (£8) and my all time best was a frugi pinafore which I bought brand new in the john lewis sale for £15 and sold used on ebay for £17 six months later.

We bought nearly all the clothes for our inpending arrival from eBay and gumtree. I always bought bundles (good quality vests, baby grows, cardigans, etc). Most of the items we've bought are from from Next and in as new condition.

To be honest about the prices- I was paying max £3 on gumtree for a bundle of say 3 Next baby grows, and maybe £5 on eBay for the same including P&P? My ultimate bargain was 5 white (brand new) Next vests for £1, and the woman I collected them from said she'd had no interest in her other items at all

The p and p is what kills it on ebay... a few years ago you could sell children's clothings with postage of around £1.30 now it's £2.85 for a standard second hand parcel (unless you package it really thin and hope it goes through as large letter) which kills off the value really particularly with ebay and paypal fees. Still worth it for the costlier items like a coat, or designer stuff, but not so much for your common or garden item of kids clothing.

Having said all that I got quite addicted to ebaying everything I could find in the house, made around £1000 over three months (this included adult clothes, electrical items, unused beauty stuff etc) so when it's all being added up as part of a big clear out it can feel more worth it.

I organise meatly new sales in south wales (totshop wales on fb ☺) and we have people bring huge amounts of clothes to iyr events.
As other posters have said, theres not much money in it unless is the higher end brands, which may sell well as a single item.
Lower priced brands are best bundled up in size /style.

What size baby clothes?

I've sold quite a few bundles in Gumtree. I don't think individual items sell well unless it's a larger item such as a coat.
I have a lovely Jojo dress DD wore about 3 times but had no joy selling it. Seems a shame.

DH is about to sell a worn twice jumper for 99p after I paid £16. It's soul destroying.

I've had a pretty good success rate selling on eBay and would recommend.

I make a huge bundle (50+ items) of Next, Gap,Junior J, M&S etc stuff (all in the same age group) and sell it together. Make your title clear and add in the best store names in the title too. In your description, make a list of every item. And take good photos of the items.

Also, sell seasonally. Sell winter bundles in September, and summer bundles in April.

I use Hermes to post - which is usually less than a tenner (much cheaper than royal mail).

For stuff like Ralph Lauren, Lacoste or Fred Perry - I sell these on their own. They sell really well, and I start at 99p per item with £2.80 postage - and have got up to £15 for individual items (which was more than I paid in the first place !).

I have found eBay the best place to get a decent price for my children's clothes, I find that bootfairs are rubbish as nobody round here wants to pay more than 20p for a top, and the same with the Facebook sites too.

I'm not sure I have the commitment for this I might just take them to the second hand shop! I don't own enough amazing baby clothes to make a big bundle

Don't bundle Boden clothes - they go for a fortune still on eBay!

There are big children's sales where I am, such as mum2mum, NCT and others.

I sell dd's clothes on eBay. I mainly sell Boden, gap, Zara, m&s, and next. I once bought a gap dress for 99p and sold it for £10! That was a good day. It's a bit of a pain but only do it a few times a year. I pretty much just shop at the stores above as I know I can potentially get some cash back
