Dunno - just how I would have guessed.

Yes, that's how he says it. especially in my dreams

As opposed to see well.

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 29/08/2016 08:45

Rufus Sewell reminds me of Ian McShane

I think they were in something together.

On one occasion, RS was mistaken for Joaquin Phoenix by an airline pilot who kicked him out of the cockpit when he wouldn't write from one gladiator to another on a piece of paper for the pilot's kid.

so sad that I know this Blush Blush

BestIsWest · 29/08/2016 08:48

He has been my crush for years. No one does that cold stare so well. Give me a thrill every time.

KermitRuffinsTrumpet · 29/08/2016 09:49

Oh that pilot needs some proper learning...

...now Joaquin Phoenix...now yer talkin'

....that scar on his lip....Oh my!

MoonStar07 · 29/08/2016 10:50

Oh he's looking divine.

gluenotsoup · 29/08/2016 21:16

Pronounced Syoowl?

Notagainmun · 29/08/2016 21:17

I have been alone in a room with him. About ten years ago I worked in a small shop (room of a house) in a village near to where his mother lives and he popped in. I didn't have what he needed unfortunately. He was rather scruffy, not at all like a star - still very sexy though.

MoonStar07 · 29/08/2016 21:41

He's on the telly ladies!! 📺🎞😍

Looked pretty damn fine turning up in Drag and eyeliner for his wedding in yon Taming of The Shrew adaptation with Shirley Henderson.

Puzzledconfusedandbewildered · 29/08/2016 22:21

Oh he's lovely even in Man in a high castle he looks very dapper if you ignore the fact he's a raving nazi

phlebasconsidered · 29/08/2016 22:31

He is wonderful (and beautiful) in Dark City, a much underrated sci-fi film. Also brilliant in The Man ....... which is due back on Amazon soon. His response in that to.his own son being euthanized was horribly compelling.

Puzzledconfusedandbewildered · 29/08/2016 22:36

phleba December I believe it's back. Can't wait, it's a brilliant series

phlebasconsidered · 29/08/2016 22:39

Yes, can't wait! It's departed so far from the original book now that I don't know what the characters will do! But they've kept to the ideals of the Dick novel really well. I really want his character to find some redemption, but I can't see it happening.

Clawdy · 29/08/2016 22:48

On holiday years ago we passed the film crew who had just finished a scene from The Woodlanders. Rufus S. was relaxing and laughing with a group of people,so I walked past him as close as I could and stared into his stunning hazel eyes....then DH pulled me away rather uneasily.....Grin

Angelto5 · 29/08/2016 22:50

Ooohhhh yes I agree ladies. Rufus is lovely.

Have any of you seen him in the to adaptation of Ken Folletts novel pillars of the earth?
He plays Tom the builder & has a farmer type accent (Somerset/Devon) not very good with knowing what regions accents come from though. It also had Ian mcshane (love joy)in it as a bishop or some sort of relegious character.

WhereYouLeftIt · 29/08/2016 22:56

Exactly Bambambini !

What did Rufus Sewell do to me?
ScrambledSmegs · 29/08/2016 23:03

I saw him in Arcadia at the NT when I was 17, and it awakened a lifelong passion for Rufus theatre.

He wore skintight purple crushed velvet trousers and looked so good. And he was funny. SO funny. Oh man, the thighs on him...

PeggyGuggenheim · 29/08/2016 23:20

Does anyone remember my Rufus Sewell story? Well not a story really! I told it on here many moons ago. I was working at a wedding where he was a guest. I was quite new to the UK and I didn't know who he was. He came up to the hotel desk to ask me something and I have never experienced anything like it, I was knocked sideways by him, he was radiating .. "electricity".. somehow. It came off him in waves, I realised afterwards it was sex appeal but I had never experienced it (and haven't since) - I just turned puce and gabbled something and he was so nice, he must be used to it I suppose!! Making people swoon. I think it's proof he has "something" because I definitely wasn't star struck, never having seen or heard of him.. I guess the camera must pick up on it, or maybe it's the chemistry between him and other actors .. he just electrified the room. It made me wonder about "charisma" and what power it must have given to figures in history. Very strange, especially given the raw materials and the well-observed Lovejoy parallels Hmm

TheLastRoseOfSummer · 30/08/2016 01:23

Yes, Rufus Sewell is delicious.

NovemberInDailyFailLand · 30/08/2016 01:46

Hands off, vipers....he's mine!

But this is also good:

leapyearbaby · 30/08/2016 02:47

He bought me a drink once. About ten years ago.

It wasn't as good as it sounds though, being as I was with my DP at the time - he used to know him. There's another sex god we run into all the time. And I can barely look at him without blushing.
I'm very immature and silly. Five years old basically

Thatsmeinthecorner2016 · 30/08/2016 03:05

But - he's got curly hair. Curly hair is a major put-off factor for me.

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 30/08/2016 06:59

PeggyGuggenheim you are far from alone in having this reaction.

I've seen a quote from Stephen Fry saying that some people have to be nailed to the floor when RF enters a room: "he gives off pheronomes the way abattoirs give off excrement."
