AIBU for not want to spend a fortune clothing Baby Annabell?

We recently bought our DD a baby Annabell which she absolutely loves. Unfortunately her love for Annabell means she's been dragged everywhere and her clothes are very grubby and worn. When I looked into getting a spare outfit I couldn't believe how expensive they are (£10-£20). AIBU? And can anyone recommend other more affordable options?

Is baby Annabel big enough to fit into normal baby clothes? If so, you might be able to pick up a cheap sleepsuit?

Tiny baby clothes (pick up second hand from eBay). Much cheaper!

My DDs' Baby Annabelles wore teeny tiny supermarket baby clothes. Think my mum knitted them some bits too.

ikea has some dolls clothes

I bought a bundle of prem baby clothes second hand of eBay dirt cheap and now baby annabell has a wardrobe full! Prem nappies also fit if your DD decides she wants those also.

DD was heavily into Baby Born. I used to get stuff from boot sales and eBay for it.

Premature/tiny baby clothes! Get some bundles on eBay :)

We found some tiny baby clothes in a charity shop that fit perfectly. It was only 50p per item.

I dressed my DD's baby annabelle with clothes from Ebay. Got some great bargains. If relatives asked what DD wanted for bday/Christmas I'd direct them to frillylily I quite enjoyed a browse myself, such cute outfits!

I got a massive bundle of tiny baby clothes on eBay for £6. They fit baby Anabell perfectly and DD loves having 'proper' baby clothes.

Don't mess with a much loved toy.

I'm 30 if someone fucked around with my teddy bear I would disown them( but I would be secretly plotting revenge)

It may be dirty and worn but dd loves the toy like that.

I used to work at Toys R Us as a student best job I ever had ... I recommended that people bought the new born clothes in babies r us for their dolls. Got more for their money that way! Kids loved it too... "Proper" baby shopping!

Good to know about the premier nappies. I was shocked when I saw the price of the annabell nappies!

They sell packs of dolls nappies for £2 in Wilko.

I'm new to Mumsnet although I'm a nan now. I went into John Lewis to buy a few bits for my grandchild who is 8 months old and I asked the woman for baby clothes for a 9 kilo baby and she had no idea what 9 kilos was/is. I know I'm old school as well but I thought that nowadays everything seems to be in kilos and cm or mm that she should have known or at least asked somebody else. She just looked at me blankly. Needless to say I left empty handed......SIGH !!....

Why didn't you just convert it into pounds on your phone? Or hold the item up and make a judgement. No need to leave empty handed and sighing.

Sheffie - no one I know in their 20s/30s uses kilos. We usually use pounds and I admit I wouldn't understand kilos either.

I think the system is mixed now. I use pounds/stone for weight, miles for distance but CM for measuring. Celsius for temperature. This is the case for my parents as well in their 50s/60s although they also use inches too.

Thinking about it the only place I see kilos is at the hospital. My slimming class uses stone/pounds too. My GP has both.

Lots of churches/ community centres have stalls selling knitted dolls clothes made by local people and quite inexpensive.

The child is 8 months old. Either buy 6-9 months if small or 9-12 months. Most labels will have weight in lb's.
