Absolutely fucking livid . Probably disproportionately so as I am hormonal but I don't care .

Background description :
House then back garden then garage then fenced area then entryway . All my boundary up to where my back fence meets the entryway. I am end terraced so entry runs down left hand side of garden and house too.

Have lived here many years . Not close with any neighbors . One on the left killed my cat other across the entry is pleasant . Say good morning and exchange pleasantries but no more than that .

Have been finding bins on my bit of land behind my house for a while - thought it may have been a mistake that neighbors might have thought it was my bin and put it there all nice as you do.

Today I have just watched several of my neighbors take the bins of people who are out at work or not in off the street and put them on my land! Like the area behind my garage is a fucking neighborhood bin store ! It's not !

It's my fucking land and AIBU to tell them to get the fuck to fucking fuck and fuck off some more!!!

And breathe .

I would wait for whoever it is that keeps wheeling them over and confront them. Tell them off OP!

deltacrook · 03/09/2016 08:41

Place marking to come back to this!

Clutterbugsmum · 03/09/2016 11:38

I'd wheel them as far away from your property as possible.

happywithlife06 · 03/09/2016 11:45

I'm supposed to be putting the washing away but I keep looking on here and a thread on MSE for updates-bad girl! X

Solina · 03/09/2016 21:17

So what happened since the last update OP?

I wish something like this happened to me but it never does... my resting bitch face keeps the neighbours away Grin

That's a good idea - force them to commit criminal damage - you obviously have a criminal mind.

I admire you.

dodobookends · 03/09/2016 22:30

Place two bins back-to-back. Gaffer tape the handles together rather thoroughly Smile

Failing that, ask the local hooded youths graffiti artists to come and paint a lovely mural on them Grin

Whereismumhiding2 · 04/09/2016 10:12

2kids2dogsnosense hehe...

Judt to clarify, I'm not saying force them to commit a criminal offence, (they choose whether they dump bins on OP's property or not), but to make ir so that IF they continue it becomes an actionable criminal offence.

OP doesnt want them trespassing & dumping on her land, neither of which will be dealt with by police as are civil matters. I've merely Wink suggested she plants (cheaply as per my last post) & puts sign up so that it becomes criminal if they continue. Then neighbours will either

  • stop using her land- job done.

-Or if they continue, they will have caused criminal to her property (plants).... Shock...*

*... Which can be reported to police.

And also if you have proof (photos of perp doing it!) It is an easy 'caution' & solved crime for police. Even if police do nothing, they'll have spoken to Perp.

The neighbours who did it can't claim any high moral ground anymore as they are no.longer "tidying up the street at your expense", but are a criminal that caused damage to your property ...Grin

Even if you don't see who did it and don't know, you're onto a winner... As you can legitimately put leaflets through all neighbours doors saying someone keeps causing criminal damage to our property at the back, at house no...., if they see anyone or if they know who it is, please contact PC Blogs at Brown street police station crime reference no. 040916123 to help with their enquiries.

(Bet all the neighbours find out who is moving their bin to yours and make sure they stop them!)
And there's always small class court espec if you have crime ref no. & get photos...

It might be worth the few pounds to chuckle over and for OP to think she could do something if she wanted to go to the trouble... Smile

I get on really well with all my neighbours BTW...!! And would talk to them if they did this, but OPs don't sound nice at all.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 04/09/2016 10:51

I can understand people taking bins in off the street, but what I don't get is why they use a 'holding area' Why don't they just go that little bit extra and deliver the bins to their respective owners?

WatchingFromTheWings · 04/09/2016 10:55

I think I'd line the boundary with cheap planters each with a small fir tree in. Placed a foot/18ins apart will (should!) prevent them getting the bins in between. If they move the planters then they are monumentally taking the piss! Maybe a dab of cement under each planter in that case.

Do the bins have numbers on them? Can you contact the waste company and find out which bin goes to which house as they appear to be abandoned on your land?

If you can, I'd do up a short but effective note and post it through all of the neighbours letterboxes. Something along the lines of

Hi neighbour,

We have noticed that after the weekly bin collection a number of bins have been placed on our land. This is trespass. Anyone found to be trespassing will be reported to the local police. This is private land and not for the use of residents on the street for bin storage or other purposes.

Failure to remove your bin from this land by midnight tonight will result in your bin being removed from the street as we have contacted the waste removal company to inform them of this and they will collect them from our property even if they aren't your neighbours are not to know this

Regards,

House #2 residents

Ha ha! Love that more people are joining in on #bingate!

So an update - sign is in progress ( haven't been able to get much done on it as my 3 pesky kids have been demanding my attention all weekend tut

Can't plant on the boundary as it is all concrete behind the garage - it's more of a lean to but with a corrugated plastic roof than an open garden bit if that makes sense.

I think that whomever is doing it doesn't take them to the respective gardens as they are all locked and don't have a broken fence!

After they were put back (again) I pulled them back into the entry (again) then kept popping upstairs to see who collected them / moved them back . A car pulled up the entry but they just moved them out of the way onto opposite neighbours drivebit into their garage .

She then came out and put them in my garden!

So I think I know who the main instigator is! And she is the one who initially told me off for putting my bins there!

Fuming is an understatement!

Now I need to decide what to say to her!

So you say to her 'You do appreciate that this piece of land is privately owned...by me'

diddl · 04/09/2016 20:09

"So I think I know who the main instigator is! And she is the one who initially told me off for putting my bins there!"

Not a surprise!

She's putting them there to get them off the street I should think, but presumably doesn't want them to stay there & "lower the tone"!

NoahVale · 04/09/2016 20:10

what a bitch!

Masketti · 04/09/2016 20:12

Bin signs and land signs are a necessity. Cheeky bastards.

Good diagram BTW Wink

NoahVale · 04/09/2016 20:14

you need to confront her really. you Know what she is up to.
she can't deny it

MinnieF1 · 04/09/2016 20:34

Cheeky bitch! I like the idea of holding the bins hostage next bin day. However, this will let the main instigator off as she will already have her bin. So I think you need to hold the bins hostage as well as give her a good bollocking. I like the idea of waiting behind the fence and confronting her but I'd reserve that move if she continues once you've told her to stop.

KickAssAngel · 04/09/2016 20:44

I'd be tempted to gather all the bins and put them super close to her front door, all together. Then ring her doorbell and run away.

Peonie7654 · 04/09/2016 20:49

I'd follow kick ass advice. All around her door, keep doing it until she knocks then go batshit at her.

Babyiwantabump · 04/09/2016 21:10

OH wants to wait until all the bins are in there and then stick a new gate on! He works on a Friday though so he may have to request time off to do this ...
