To not understand emojis?

Apart from the obvious ones, smiley faces, thumbs up, bottles of champagne, aeroplanes etc? A lot of the facial expressions just seem a bit obscure to me; or am I just out of touch and lacking in emotional intelligence?

I don't think you're lacking in emotional intelligence but I don't understand what you're not understanding ha. Have you any examples?

I was just thinking about this earlier. I think I understand them but was pondering some of the face ones and wondering if I think they mean the same thing as other people

It's nori (dried seaweed) it's part of the onigiri (rice ball). It's Japanese. Emoji originated in Japan so a lot of the food items are typically Japanese.
