I've been both on it and off it - came off it completely a while ago - in 2011. I don't miss it one bit. It was a great novelty when I first went on it in about 2008 - but after that the novelty sort of wore off.

I'm happy I the knowledge that the people I don't want to bother with at all - now can't find me! - I also love having the 'privacy' of not being on it!!

My family are scattered all around the country and abroad. It's lovely to see what they've been doing. I have a few good friends but not loads of random acquaintances posting endless videos. They all went. Anyone who posted political shite was blocked.

I've got school posts and local interest pages and am a member on some special interest sites. It's great for me.

It's how you choose to trim it down

I've never used it. From what I see about it on here, it's a time-and IQ-sapping jealousy-making black hole.

I've never understood the "boring" accusations either, or the endless complaints on here about people's newsfeeds filling up with twee stuff or duckface selfies or holiday photos.

It doesn't come with pre-installed random "friends"! YOU have to add people you want to communicate with. And then you have the option to stop following them if you don't enjoy what they post.

What is all this dull stuff people talk about? I only have real friends and family on there, only follow groups I have an interest in, and de-friend/hide/block as appropriate. I have high security settings so can't really be seen as such.

So anything I see on there is, as a result, interesting to me.

JackandDiane · 21/08/2016 19:38

i am not on it.
I still have friends who arent bored shitless by me photographing my birthday presents or saying how 'blessed' they are

EVERYONE on FB says they are just there to snoop

JackandDiane · 21/08/2016 19:39

you dont NEED Fb to keep up with friends.
You just tell them way more
