Has your daughter started her periods yet? Yes/No. Is this a reasonable question to ask and for what reason would they need to know? This is on a form for young people wanting to take part on a young fire fighter course.

Queiro- female staff were advised of the facilities (lack of) and those who were affected could ask not to go. The children we took were in care/ difficult circumstances and so it wasn't a straight forward situation, and needed to be made aware explicitly of why it wasn't suitable etc and it couldn't be relied upon that parents/ care givers would support them/ prepare them for this situation but we were not allowed to discuss it with them without parental consent so we targeted the relevant children as required.

Actually Oz as you don't have a DD you would be the perfect person to complain about this firm as you couldn't be construed as taking it personally.

I'd probably just draw a third tick box, write 'N/A' next to it and tick that.

Long shot but the only thing that I could possibly think of was if they were practising lifts on one another and for some bizarre reason thought that a girl on their period may be uncomfortable being lifted in case it showed the line of a towel through her clothes

I can't see that any activities that may take place, should warrant asking the question. It's very bizzare.

Are they undertaking activities that may require them to get wet / swim / shower? Because that's the only reason I can think of where it's even vaguely appropriate to ask.
