Aibu to ask what the hell it is and why the hell anyone would wear a perfume that smells like a sanitary pad? And why would anyone manufacture a perfume that smells like a sanitary pad? Confused

So basically your saying you don't like her perfume and your likening it to the smell of a pad?

Grow up.

MudCity · 17/08/2016 22:23

Perhaps ask her which perfume it is so you can avoid it in future??

What a bizarre post.

HateSummer · 17/08/2016 22:24

Yes that's true usual...I'm glad we've explored that possibility so early on in the thread Grin

Years ago i accidently bought some pantyliners (that burnt my fanjo off) that were scented i thought the pong was familiar and then realised they smelt just like ariel washing powder , might be what she uses to wash her clothes in

spanky2 · 17/08/2016 22:27

Well I've learnt something, I didn't realise the perfume on the pads was strong.
Why do women need scented pads? I didn't realise ladies parts needed perfuming. I'm just thinking of that thread about the dh smelling the au pair's pants. Then it developed into men buying dirty women's pants online.

HateSummer · 17/08/2016 22:28

It's funny how there was a thread on here months ago about a colleague who stunk of BO and the op had a massive support on here about reporting her to HR....

I've merely likened a colleagues perfume to a sanitary pad and I'm being called rude and what not!

Well I shall maintain I'm not rude! I'm very kind actually...I'm stating a perfume smells like a sanitary pad smell. Grin

I really need to sleep now, good night!

Pretend you like it and ask what it is!

AbbeyBartlet · 17/08/2016 22:30

BillSykes Not had an infection yet - and panty liners aren't as effective.

Firsttimer82 · 17/08/2016 22:31

Are you sure its not you top lip?

Firsttimer82 · 17/08/2016 22:31

your

TattyCat · 17/08/2016 22:32

I very rarely used them and didn't even look to see whether they were scented or not, but in the last few years have figured out that scented sanitary pads absolutely stink whether they're clean or ... used.

Three teens in this house and they all smelled the same and I can only gather that the pads were the common denominator. It's better since they started using tampons, so 3 x better smelling leads me to believe it was the nasty scented pads. They seemed to have a scented pad 'aura'!

Years ago, I worked on the basis that if I can smell it, so can people getting fairly close up to me...

CaffeineBomb · 17/08/2016 22:33

The reason you are being called rude is because you implied you wanted to ask her why she would choose to wear a perfume that smells like a sanitary pad.

Noshowofmojo · 17/08/2016 22:37

There's a dry shampoo that smells just the same as those pads.

GinAndSonic · 17/08/2016 22:37

Could it be dry shampoo? Some have an awful smell, not unlike the chemical "fresh meadow" scent they use on scented pads which practically give me thrush just thinking about them

GinAndSonic · 17/08/2016 22:37

Great minds noshow

MistressoftheYoniverse · 17/08/2016 22:38

Well, its highly unlikely it's a perfume called 'Always Pad No1' probably a combo of shower gel and under arm or perfume and natural body smell..if it's not B.O then chill and get over it...I remember in my very first job at 15 my managers perfume smelled like potatoes...seriously..sweet Avon potatoes Grin

milkbottle · 17/08/2016 22:46

YABU and I'd be heartbroken if someone from work came home and made fun of me on a public forum

Alisvolatpropiis · 17/08/2016 22:48

I'd say it's probably dry shampoo.

WoburnSands · 17/08/2016 22:49

I think when you take sanitary pads out f their packet they have that holiday/sun tan lotion smell iyswim

IJustAteTheKidsFoodAgain · 17/08/2016 22:49

Well I'm all about saving the world one period at a time with my mooncup, but when I was a teenager my mum used to buy me scented pads and a couple of years ago I bought a box and kept them by my bed, it made me feel at home for some strange reason. Probably time I name changed after that confession

IJustAteTheKidsFoodAgain · 17/08/2016 22:50

I meant to finish my post by suggesting that perhaps she likes the smell and doesn't realise why? I could easily wear that perfume although would be concerned others would recognise the scent

Lilacpink40 · 17/08/2016 22:53

How can you compare BO to a perfume (or possibly a deodorant) that you simply don't like?

BO is most likely due to lack of cleanliness or a need to seek medical help if it's occuring badly after cleaning is taking place (and no physical exertion).

Perfume is a matter of taste. Perhaps everyone in your work would choose her perfume, and perspective, over yours.

TattyCat · 17/08/2016 23:01

when I was a teenager my mum used to buy me scented pads and a couple of years ago I bought a box and kept them by my bed, it made me feel at home for some strange reason

Proof, then, that they DO smell distinctive! Not suggesting everyone should throw up at the mere whiff of one, but if they're that distinctive then perhaps they (the manufacturers) need to listen to popular opinion and stop scenting them to appeal to teenagers. Because they don't know what smells good and what doesn't, frankly Grin

And they smell. They DO.

WoburnSands · 17/08/2016 23:04

saving the world one period at a time

PortiaCastis · 17/08/2016 23:09
