Ahem ? After getting upduffed at 17 and giving birth at 18 I finally did a degree at 20 and eventually finished it at 24 scraped a 2/1 so I is clever.
Because my Gran and Mum know the whole town and gossip they offer my services!

toadgirl · 16/08/2016 20:46

A generous breaded chicken breast coated in golden breadcrumbs, topped with a garlic spread, served up with chips, fried egg and salad garnish" and we're having cheesy garlic bread with it

Hmmm. As you're on holiday, I suppose.....!!

VanillaSugar · 16/08/2016 20:46

I loves everyone in this thread. Hang on....you're getting MARRIED? ???

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 16/08/2016 20:47

Haha. Thanks Jess!

I've only been engaged for over a whole fucking stupid year. I don't like to rush these things!

Better, you can be my bridesmaid as long as you don't mind my minion theme. All guests must choose a minion to represent.

toadgirl · 16/08/2016 20:47

You've done very well for yourself, Portia.

Were you shot of your ex by the time you went to study?

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 20:47

Well, that sounds great, Portia - I'm sure all will go well. But I think the clue as to why she just wants to go with her boyfriend is because you feel "just as uptight" as she does. She will be aware of this and, as well as wanting to do well for her own sake, she also feels a responsibility to you as you have such a stake in her future as a loving, concerned Mum. She doesn't feel any such responsibility to her boyfriend so she doesn't mind him being there when she gets news that might be disappointing. It is because you and she are so connected (in a good way) that she wants to do it like this. It is absolutely not a rejection - it is just the opposite, so don't feel hurt.

Whataboutwhathuh · 16/08/2016 20:47

Bing are you marrying pando and is pando going to take off his pants like always?

toadgirl · 16/08/2016 20:48

I agree with Better re above.

You have such a different relationship with your DD to the ones I had with my parents. It manifests completely differently.

PortiaCastis · 16/08/2016 20:49

Dd appreciates yoyr good wishes

VanillaSugar · 16/08/2016 20:50

My husband's an accountant. Just thought I'd pop that one in.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 16/08/2016 20:50

No, not Pando. His insistence on being trouserless just doesn't do it for me.

Luckily for me, I'm not marrying Flop either. Wink

VanillaSugar · 16/08/2016 20:50

Some being for Bing

PortiaCastis · 16/08/2016 20:51

Aw thank you Better Toad Jess and everyone. I feel better now

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 16/08/2016 20:53

N'aw! Thanks everyone! It's nice when people get excited for me. No one IRL does anymore because it's been too long and we still haven't set a date much to my displeasure.

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 20:54

Congratulations, Being!!!

Whataboutwhathuh · 16/08/2016 20:55

Keep your wedding dress and wear it downstairs for breakfast on your fifth wedding anniversary. Your husband will think you've cracked. It's hilarious.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 16/08/2016 20:55

So let's get this organised!

Vanilla you are obviously making the cake.
Portia can your mum make scones (like bones) for the afternoon tea?
Toad, I would like a different meme on the back of each chair to represent each guest.

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 20:58

Oh, this is so exciting!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 16/08/2016 21:01

This would be acceptable for the cake Vanilla
