I wanted to take dd into school to get her grades (they are AS) she doesn't want me there and wants to go with her bf. I feel quite upset about it. Am I being daft?

Let her go with her boyfriend, would be my advice, Portia and ask her to phone/text you the results. It is a very stressful, nerve-wracking day for them and I would let her do it her way. You can bet that, if she's pleased with her results, you'll get a phone call almost immediately. If they're not so good, she'll feel happier talking to you after she's had a little time to absorb them.

I agree with better. Parents didn't generally turn up on results day at my somewhat rough school; I get why you want to be there, but it's usually all squealing and shrieking with mates stuff. You'd need earplugs.

I'm barging straight in with DD but only because I will have driven 200 miles and spent £300 on hotel rooms to ensure DD is at school at 7.59am.

I was saying earlier I had no ambition as a teen (none now, really) so didn't worry about exams or results at all. I was so casual about it. It seems weird now, but that's the way toads are.

Yes better she is optimistic but said all her modules were too easy peasy. I think they have really pushed her at school too.
