To have just drank a whole bottle of Sauvignon Blanc before 5pm...

on a Wednesday?!

My kids are away, I've taken a couple of days annual leave to get over a gum infection rather than be off sick and I'm home alone. I just watched the whole second series of Happy Valley, did no housework at all and drank a bottle of wine.

Is that bad?

Ooo have fun. I'm rubbish at drinking before I've had my tea, so tend not too.
I think I'd have had the cava first, and then a glass of the Sav Blanc, don't think I'd be able to make my way to bed with any more!

Can't believe no-one's asked yet, but WTF is wrong with Marlborough SB?

p.s. good work OP, I am beyond jealous as, although my DS x 2 are away at their Aunties, I have to be up at 6 for work tomorrow :(

Kalopsia77 · 10/08/2016 20:30

limon I know, I take full responsibility for the awful grammatical mistake, I was high on wine and excellent TV drama and I was wrong, I can see that now. Beyond mortified. And binge drinking is definitely unreasonable. But somehow it's incredibly fun on a Wednesday afternoon when unashamedly skipping both a sales meeting and an accounts meeting Grin I shall suffer appropriately in the office tomorrow I'm sure

Pearlman I'm flattered! Two bottles and a naice gin and my typing is obviously passable. Speech a little slurred mind but you guys can't hear so I can totally get away with it Grin I'm loving my new iPhone for the spellchecking right now!

Oh now I'm wondering aibu for being able to type coherent sentences after a shedload of booze?! I'm not sure if I should be really proud or really ashamed!

I thought the point was that Marlborough SB was the best? That's what I meant, anyway. I've put away half a bottle of Spinning Top this evening, anyway... the Peter Yealand Reserve is... in reserve. We chose it as the white for our wedding and we have a bottle left. Outed

Funko · 11/08/2016 09:00

How's the hangover Op? 😄

KC225 · 11/08/2016 09:10

Are you Theresa May? If not, no harm if it's a treat

Lilaclily · 11/08/2016 09:15

When did you put the gin down and go to bed op?!

How are the green juices going down Grin

DavetheCat2001 · 11/08/2016 09:21

Bizzarrely I dreamt I was pissed last night and woke up with a headache.

How is that fair?????

Funko · 11/08/2016 09:29

Bacon butties for me 😄

Thefitfatty · 11/08/2016 09:35

hoiks up judgey pants past her armpits and waggles finger

I hope you are getting yourself straight to AA this morning missy! You drank a whole weeks worth of units in one evening.

pulls down judgey pants and adds Buy Wine to her to-do list

Dbsparkles · 11/08/2016 09:39

I had one glass of wine and woke up with a headache this morning! I hope you're suffering 😃😃 (but not too much)

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 11/08/2016 10:13

I call BS. I can put wine away with the best of them, but you're two bottles in and you can still type?

Would be no bother to me. I could easily sink two bottles of wine and be pretty in control.

Not that I make a habit of this!

Thefitfatty · 11/08/2016 10:18

I've always had a fairly high alcohol tolerance. A bottle of wine, even when I was 18 and starting to drink, would do very little for me. Which is why I'm always a little Hmm when people say they get squiffy off a glass of wine.

I know a high tolerance is a sign of alcohol abuse, but different people metabolize alcohol differently. Something to do with body weight and metabolism I think. Not sure. Confused

Scribblegirl · 11/08/2016 10:26

I drank at least two bottles over the course of 8 hours last Saturday (sat in the sun at a friend's BBQ from 2pm - 10pm - bliss). I woke up the next day feeling fresh as a daisy.

Last night I shared a bottle of wine (so half a bottle) with my friend over a pizza and today I feel like death. Sad

By that logic OP should be feeling bloody wonderful!

Kalopsia77 · 11/08/2016 10:57

I'm not going to lie, I had some regrets at 6am when my alarm went off Grin

Fine now though, it doesn't seem fair really!

Might have a little drinking break now though (a break from drinking that is, not drinking on my break)

Oooh OP what a treat, you're dead right!! Hope you enjoyed it. :)

Lilaclily · 11/08/2016 13:07

A break till Friday night Wink
