My kids are away, I've taken a couple of days annual leave to get over a gum infection rather than be off sick and I'm home alone. I just watched the whole second series of Happy Valley, did no housework at all and drank a bottle of wine.

Is that bad?

If I drank a bottle of wine then cava I would be really drunk, but you seem to be able to handle it so fair play, enjoy! I can't handle my wine anymore which is shit because I love wine.

Trying to decide what next...this being on holiday lark is The Best....first world problem being that this is the only place still getting the sun, but the cocktail list us a bit meh. Move on for better cocktails or sub cocktail in the sun? Difficult decisions.

Just been at a kids party all afternoon. Was secretly hoping there may be a bottle or two there as it was a picnicy-affair, but no such luck, so I just scoffed far too many crisps/sausages/cakes/biscuits and general crap.

Trying to lay off the booze a bit this week as was borderline alike on holiday.

I do love wine.

I fear the second bottle will be a big mistake

16 weeks pregnant and insanely jealous. Enjoy, it feels quite bad and decadent drinking in the day and feeling drunk so early but it's not like it's everyday. Have fun!

I hope so SweetChickadee we do love to take the piss out of the hungover people in the office so they will love me! I work with lots of very posh people/gentlemen farmers and they are frequently suffering on random weekdays. I'm the exception (ie common as muck) but I do like to make an effort to fit in

YANBU, enjoy your evening, but personally I wouldn't open the Cava, the second bottle is always the hangover one and unless you can handle that tomorrow it isn't worth it.

Honestly? It's in the same unhilarious category as eating a whole pack of biscuits. And part of the picture which sees the UK with high levels of drinking and obesity.

Oh I didn't realise that by having a very rare boozy afternoon off work I was contributing to the UK obesity and binge drinking crises.

I see now where I am going wrong, I shall stick to green juice and quinoa and edamame salads from now on (my usual workday grub) That will stop all the bad things happening in broken Britain.
