Aibu or is this show shit? Dad has just discovered it and it makes me so cross.
Their mum is so wet. Tim doesn't want to come downstairs and meet the new teacher, "ok Tim". No, it's not ok Tim, you're being rude and you can play with your rocket later.

And the last day of nursery episode???
Fuck off Tony Welsch's dad - invite the whole fucking nursery over to your own fucking house!

Angry

I hate this programme. The house, even after they finally bloody moved, has so much stuff in it that it makes me feel claustrophobic just watching T&T running around. And nobody slips on the grass while running through the sprinkler and nobody pushes anybody off the swing and nobody has a fight about how sits on which side of the sofa. Mum definitely on drugs.

bastedyoungturkey · 10/08/2016 13:35

It's Topsy's fringe that pisses me off.

And that's when Mummy said.......😡

80sMum · 10/08/2016 13:46

Oh god, yes I agree it's a bloody awful programme! Unfortunately my granddaughters love it.

I saw an episode recently with eldest granddaughter, aged 4, and whilst watching how Tim behaved when he had the teeniest tiniest scratch on his hand, I realised why DGD always makes such a fuss over every little scrape and tumble!

Tim is an appalling role model! He whinges and whines about everything! And the grandmother and mother appear to encourage it!

Terrible programme!

lolo14 · 10/08/2016 13:48

The mum is a Stepford Wife. She makes parenting look so flipping easy. In accurate portrayal of reality

Figgygal · 10/08/2016 13:49

My DS loves the books and would quite happily watch the show if I let him but it is horseshit!!! The kids aren't even siblings are they let alone twins I swear they have different surnames.

FlyingElbows · 10/08/2016 13:51

I loved Topsy and Tim books when I was a child (I'm 39) but I'm very glad my own children are too old for what sounds like complete hell on the TV! I distinctly remember them getting a baby out the loft Grin

LauraMipsum · 10/08/2016 13:51

Mummy is addicted to valium, that's why she's got that dead eyed look. She gets her pills from Granny, who is that bit more enthusiastic because she keeps MDMA in her handbag.

Kalispera · 10/08/2016 13:56

I always remember that Bill Bryson described them as 'irksome little clots' and I think that's a very quaint way of describing the hell that is T&T.

summerholsr2long · 10/08/2016 19:19

The show gets on my tits but I do watch the episodes with my kids and end up humming the theme song at times when out and about Blush

milliemoon · 10/08/2016 19:34

Ga few months ago I burnt my DS's (aged 3) tea. He actually turned to me and said "Topsy and Tims mum doesn't burn the pizza does she?"Sigh

SnugglySnerd · 10/08/2016 19:43

I'm always quite pleased when the double episode starts on a Saturday morning as it means 20 whole minutes of peace while DD is engrossed. I've only got as far as them starting reception though - mum having another baby is a bit of a spoiler!!

Snowwhitequeen · 11/08/2016 21:46

I loved the books when I was little but the TV show irritates the hell out of me. No parent is that calm EVER, especially not with twins!! She's off her face on medication, of that I am sure.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 11/08/2016 22:01

I find the Dad more irritating than the Mum. He's had some of Grandma's mdma for sure.

Scorbus · 11/08/2016 22:03

I am so so glad that DD1 has graduated onto CBBC, Operation Ouch is sublime compared to the Beebies shite her little sister likes

99percentchocolate · 11/08/2016 22:09

I completely forgot I started this thread!Blush
Glad to see I'm not the only one who hates the programme though. Have been having a good chuckle at your comments. That mum is definitely on something.

I've only watched it a couple of times but mum seemed to be obsessed with the twins washing their hands every five seconds.

fryingtoday · 11/08/2016 22:15

What about Wet Dad? He winds me up ....

CaveMum · 11/08/2016 22:18

Has the fact that T&T's dad must be Lee Mack's brother been mentioned yet?!

Fortybingowings · 11/08/2016 22:19

There is a HOT guy in it though. He's the dad of one of T&T's friends. He comes over to help wet-dad put up the swings in one episode. I think he's also a fire fighter in the series

bottomhangingout · 11/08/2016 22:23

I have had a T & T day. DD2 loves this at the moment and she sings the theme all day. DD1 did like it a couple of years back. She now doesn't like it especially if Mr Rosen is in it. She thinks he's about to die 🤔

MLGs · 11/08/2016 22:43

I hate it too. But I hate anything where the Dad acts like a fully functioning mature adult, so maybe don't have the perspective...

Hubnut · 11/08/2016 22:48

"And that said x was that" - no nobody said that. It wasn't grammatically correct to say that as the context was all wrong. If you're going to insist on a (totally shit) catchphrase then at least apply it in a logical way.

And their memory game is shit too.

ChasedByBees · 11/08/2016 22:59

Antihop - we have that hose sprinkler attachment so decided to live the Topsy and Tim dream. What actually happened is that DD tripped over the attachment and so it fell on its side. DD was lying on the grass with the hose spraying freezing water directly in her face as she screamed blue murder. It took ages to calm her down!

It wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
