We live in a residential area with allotments on the outskirts, someone on the allotments has a cockerel and for the pass 3 weeks the bloody bird has welcomed the day from 4.30 onwards waking myself and the 4dc. What to do?

Two choices..
Ring it's neck,
Or contact environmental health at your council for snti social behaviour by the owners. The allotment probably belongs to them anyway..

EH is far and away the easier..
