Can I divorce over cheese?

I'm 7 weeks pregnant. Have been waiting for dickhead (from here-on to be known as dh) to come home with cheese so we can have dinner (which I was going to cook) Was going to be pasta and cheese, nice and plain and easy.

He walked in the door at 9pm with a block of mild cheese. I've never eaten mild cheese in my life, and we've certainly never bought it as a couple. Who would put mild cheese on pasta??

I got very upset, literally sobbing. He tried to comfort me but I don't want to be touched (over 13 hours alone with ds18 months and dd7 months) I just want my fucking cheese. He got snotty and raised his voice because I told him I didn't need to be comforted.

Have bad pregnancy nausea and I've gone to bed hungry whilst he goes out with the fucking dog.

AIBU to divorce over cheese? I really fucking hate him right now Sad

So this is serious? I can't tell how much sorry.
You are buying but you are pregnant, hormonal and allowed to be. But you do need to look back with perspective, sorry.
wish I could send you some virtual cheese but we only have edam :o

FoxesOnSocks · 07/08/2016 21:20

Hmmm, normally I'd say yes divorcing over cheese is an understandable situation. But you will have three under three soon so I suggest keeping him, he may come in useful; not for cheese purchasing obviously.

StealthPolarBear · 07/08/2016 21:20

There must be something you could eat. Toast? Scrambled egg? Pasta with just salt (my favourite )

crayfish · 07/08/2016 21:21

If you were being lighthearted I'd tell you to LTB, but you were 'literally sobbing' about cheese?

Bloopbleep · 07/08/2016 21:21

Macaroni cheese with mild cheese and a side of brown sauce works well. Yabu

GinIsIn · 07/08/2016 21:23

YANBU! I'm 13 weeks now but at 7 weeks all I wanted was salt and vinegar crisps, & DH came home with fucking ready salted. I cried. I might have thrown things....

PurpleDaisies · 07/08/2016 21:23

My dh bought me low fat cheese once. I nearly left him.

Thewrongcheesegrommit · 07/08/2016 21:23

Thanks fenella, I'm ignoring everyone else

Grin cheese is inportant.

PurpleDaisies · 07/08/2016 21:25

Important even!

Idliketobeabutterfly · 07/08/2016 21:25

Pregnancy hormones are a bitch...

Dafspunk · 07/08/2016 21:27

Were you literally just going to have dry pasta with cheese? Not even make a cheese sauce?

Not judging, just curious.

Elledouble · 07/08/2016 21:29

I think I'd be that angry if my other half came home with mild cheese and I'm not even pregnant!

Thankfully he knows better.

Chin up, hope you're feeling better soon!

crayfish · 07/08/2016 21:29

Now if it was LOW FAT mild cheese, then sobbing would be entirely understandable and even a bit of an under reaction.

PurpleDaisies · 07/08/2016 21:29

I eat pasta with just melted cheese dafspunk. It's a great can't be bothered to cook meal. Even better if you add a squirt of tomato purée.

Thewrongcheesegrommit · 07/08/2016 21:29

Dafspunk, I was going to wing it, but I do like pasta, cheese and a bit of olive oil. Lots of salt and pepper. Yummy, hungry thinking about it! There's other stuff I could eat, but I wanted that. Stubborn, moi?

FoxesOnSocks · 07/08/2016 21:30

Excuse me!!!

I think you'll find I said it was understandable. How very dare you ignore me

I've a nice Extra mature may have shared too.

GinAndSonic · 07/08/2016 21:32

You shouldn't LTB.

You should probably kill him though. Mild cheese? It doesn't even have a taste. What's the point of it?

Only keep him alive if hes going to be a genuine help with the DC, and, obviously, buy your own cheese from now on. Lock it in a box in the fridge so he can't get at it and leave him to his disgusting mild cheese.

DownstairsMixUp · 07/08/2016 21:32

Ltb. Totally unacceptable. Mild cheese is boring.

Thewrongcheesegrommit · 07/08/2016 21:32

Sorry foxes, I meant all the other assholes Grin (just kidding!)

StealthPolarBear · 07/08/2016 21:33

Pasta with melted cheese and salt would be my last meal. With a pint not (bottle) and followed by a black instant coffee and bar of Co op milk chocolate or six.
wow I'm a cheap date.
or...champagne, some sort if wild rice concoction with tenders ten broccoli. That would be the healthier meal if I thought I was in with a chance of reprieve. I'd still have the chocolate.

Lurkedforever1 · 07/08/2016 21:33

Yanbu, ltb. Mild cheese is offensive at any time, but when you are pregnant and looking forward to nice cheese it is unforgivable.

Thewrongcheesegrommit · 07/08/2016 21:34

Thanks for cheering me up anyway everyone Smile

HarlettOScara · 07/08/2016 21:34

Mild cheddar?

The only thing that would prevent me divorcing if OH ever bought mild cheddar is the fact that we're not actually married. I'll forgive many things but there is no place in my life/fridge for mild cheese.
