We had planned to move to England next year, no specific area yet, depends where DH gets a job. Is this a bad idea now with the whole brexit thing? DH thinks it is.

I don't really want to put it off as DS would be starting school next year. We are currently in Scotland btw.

If theres another indyref then I'll be leaving too. Can't go through the vileness again.

No I think it's still a good idea if you can get a job etc.

OP, I can't see an independent Scotland getting EU membership anyway. So if you'd be staying to stay in Europe, I think you'd be making a mistake.

Good idea to move especially as interest rates are at the lowest,which will be helpful if you are buying.

Thanks for the replies so far! Dh has just informed me he might vote yes in the next ref so we really might have to leave or I will have to divorce him!

I would much rather be in Scotland. The education is a lot better. DS moved to the English system after P2 and was ridiculously far in front of the other children.

I think education is not as good at secondary, and primary probably depends if they are going into the same year group as the cut offs are different.

That was completely and totally different in 2014. Spain would have objected to an independent Scotland joining the EU as a deterrent to the Basque and Catalan people who want independence from Spain along with the advantages of EU membership. Now that the UK may be leaving the EU that stance is very different. Allowing an independent Scotland full EU membership becomes a MASSIVE deterrent to other EU member states from leaving the EU as it's an implicit threat that if you leave, your own national union is quite likely to fall apart. If the UK really does leave the EU (which it may not) you can bet your ass Spain will be encouraged (heavily bribed) to make it clear that they'd have no objection to Scotland rejoining in such circumstances.
