to change my felt flat roof to a glass fibre roof

I have a flat roof over an extension that the previous owners built. We've had a leak coming in so I had a roofer out to have a look, and he said that as I have felt roof (which is starting to bubble and go a bit soft in places), that it would be really difficult to locate where the leak is coming in as it could be anywhere.

He recommended changing the felt roof to a glass fibre one. Apparently it would stop all leaks, last for 20 years (whereas the felt one will need replacing in 100, and would mean that we could then walk on the flat roof and use it as a balcony if we wanted.

It sounds great! But is it really? Has anyone done this? I'm just looking for opinions before I go ahead as it's not cheap!

I had to do a bit of research on this very subject and he's not lying Smile They really are better. They do last for many years. They look better too.
