To potentially make DH very ill?

I realise there is a similar themed thread here, must be food hygiene day.

Anyway, I cooked a chicken on Thursday afternoon. Switched the oven off when it was ready and left it in there (one of those cook in the bag ALDI special bad boys).

We went away for the weekend and I totally forgot about it until now.

AIBU to test it on DH to see if it's edible? DH things it probably is, so is sort of consenting. He's also left his bastarding socks on the floor next to the laundry basket again, for me to collect and wash presumably. As such, I feel his life is expendable at the moment.

I would bag it a couple of times and put it in someone else's bin in case he is stupid enough to take it out of yours. Yuk it is making me feel sick just reading these threads and thinking about it.
What a numpty!
Make sure he washes his hands well before touching you're kids.
Waits for the explosion.
I would buy loads of loo roll, hand sanitiser and toilet cleaner today.
My DH has a cast iron constitution but there is no way he would be stupid enough to eat that.

Fruitellaz · 01/08/2016 06:41

Shock I hope he's ok

trufflehunterthebadger · 01/08/2016 06:47

Shamelessly marking place

lifesuckssometimes · 01/08/2016 06:48

Interested in the outcome, but wondering why some men people, don't listen.

Wrcgirl · 01/08/2016 06:50

No no no. This must be a joke

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 01/08/2016 06:51

I am the most relaxed person in the world about sell-by dates, but this - definitely not.

froubylou · 01/08/2016 06:52

Did he shit the bed OP?

Doublemint · 01/08/2016 06:54

We need a poo update!

Doublemint · 01/08/2016 06:55

Maybe he pooed on her phone in an attempt to reach the bathroom in the darkness of the night.

Goingtobeawesome · 01/08/2016 07:12

Lounge , the OP hasn't risked her DH life. He did that. She didn't force him to eat it.

Clearly it should have been double bagged and binned outside immediately but hopefully he won't be ill and next time the right thing will be done.

snowgirl29 · 01/08/2016 07:23

Oh yes definitely double bag it! I once bought a Jamie Oliver spatchcock chicken thing (was delicious) - thrown in nonchalantly in the bin. Had a day at the seaside later that week in the middle of a heatwave and came back to the wheelie bin teaming with maggots it was vile 😷

How is your DH this morning OP?

Sooverthis · 01/08/2016 07:28

Hope he's fine, we eat cooked chicken for three or four days as long as it's refrigerated but in an oven I'd probably bin it my dh on the other hand would eat it as long as it smelt fine. He's a big boy now so he makes his own decisions Grin bit surprised at the number of posters thinking OP is responsible for her dh food decisions.

Poptart27 · 01/08/2016 07:30

Oh god. This is not good.

My FIL and DH eat most things I wouldn't. I doubt even they would do something this stupid. I am also emetophobic but this thread has me intrigued.

Hope he's ok, OP. Next time don't tell him, eh?!

APocketfulOfStars · 01/08/2016 07:31

place marking!

PinkSquash · 01/08/2016 07:39

Shamelessly place marking, I feel a bit queasy just reading about it, not helped by the hangover.

I hope he's alright OP.

BastardGoDarkly · 01/08/2016 07:40

Tuning in to see if the strange man survived.

WellErrr · 01/08/2016 07:44

Oh dear.

PirateFairy45 · 01/08/2016 07:52

Got life insurance on him?

If he's so stupid as to eat this, he's gonna do other stupid shit.

Get life insurance for him.

BoGrainger · 01/08/2016 07:54

This is why I'm worrying about dd3 going into student digs. I can imagine the 4 of them sitting there debating not just whether to eat it but whether it will do them for the next few meals Shock

Brightredpencil · 01/08/2016 07:58

Came on for an uodaye but see the OK is too errrrrr... chicken to come back after the errrr.... roasting she's had!!

judgeaway · 01/08/2016 08:00

Come on op we need a update

Corabell · 01/08/2016 08:09

This is the ultimate mumsnet chicken.

Gabilan · 01/08/2016 08:14

So it's sat in the oven for days - and you leave it out for others to eat

She didn't leave it for an inquisitive toddler to munch on. He knows they've been away and can work out from its coldness it hasn't just been cooked. FFS why are women responsible for what grown men choose to eat?

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 01/08/2016 08:17

Why the hell is the OP getting a roasting?! He's a big boy, he knew how long the chicken had been there and he chose to eat it. I didn't realise women were responsible for their partner's stupidity!

PatMullins · 01/08/2016 08:21

"roasting"

^^
