He's ten. I've reminded him three times now over the course of the last half hour and even laid out his kit for him. He's actively refusing to shower and I've stopped asking. We're already late for the start and I'm tempted to wait it out and see just how long it will take him to get round to it. What do you reckon?!

Arses, that should read To not keep asking etc

Does he really want to go? I let DS miss it once after getting fed up of the constant reminders and he has got ready promptly ever since! I also refuse to prepare his bag or kit and, after forgetting something crucial, he is now much more on the ball (ha!)

(But why does he need to shower if he is going to play football??)

I'd tell him you won't remind him again, tell him when you need to leave in Order not to be late (maybe five mins early) and for him to come and find you when he's ready to leave.

He needs to shower because he's ten, pre pubescent, and stinks lol! It's basic hygene. He loves the club but seems more interested in defying me as I'm the one in front of him right now, so to speak. I've told him I'm not reminding him again and as you suggested Toddler, told him to come get me when he's ready to leave. I'm waiting him out, place your bets now!
