to have a child free night and no plans

My parents have kindly agreed to have our son overnight on Saturday. I really fancy/fancied us going to the pub and watching some live music or something. This is something we haven't done in AGES. But of the 4 pubs in my village, none have any music playing.

We don't live far from town but town on a Saturday night is a bit much for us and I'm not even sure there are any music venues in town - just normal pubs and clubs.

So that means we will likely be in, doing nothing that we don't do when DS is asleep. HELP!

Would you be able to afford a night away? Cheap hotel deal in a town that's good for live music?

Smartieskid · 26/07/2016 10:56

Get some nice adult food that you wouldn't normally have make a big deal of it dress up few candles and enjoy some desert on the sofa with a glass of wine

Bottle of champagne/cava tequila loads of nice cheese/parma ham get really pissed and then........enjoy the lie in

No to the night away - we are going away beginning of August so not a chance.

Budget is quite tight all round tbh so the going out or a [pint or two with a band was the best I could imagine. :(

I would go out early for a nice bite to eat and if there is no atmosphere in the pub, come home and have a chill out and good DVD or early night Wink

What about one of the dine in for 10 pound meals

Missgraeme · 26/07/2016 13:55

U need to get online and bag a bargain night!! We found a B&B that turned out to be a self contained annexe with log burner /huge bedroom /sitting room /porch with breakfast in the countryside 10 mins from our planned excursion for £35 each for the night!! All else fails u can play naked wii to your hearts content - tho alcohol essential!

Go for a picnic - bottle of wine, nice food; go somewhere pretty and watch the sun set Smile I always long to go for a walk on the beach with DH for an evening without the kids - rarely happens!

Ha, good suggestions. Had a look for the 2dine options and there doesnt appear to be one. Perhaps we shall just plan a romantic night in... bath, candles, movie then who knows....! At least we know we won't get disturbed!

Romantic evening sounds perfect just no distractions time to have adult chat that dosnt involve work or children

maninawomansworld01 · 26/07/2016 23:25

Why not look at the upcoming events at your local , pick a band you like the look of and ask your parents to babysit on that date instead?

Destinysdaughter · 26/07/2016 23:27

Go to the movies? Nice meal out?

GreenPetal94 · 26/07/2016 23:30

I'd go out for a curry or something cheap. Just staying in is the same as him being asleep surely? Or just go down the pub without the live music? It seems a waste not to go out.
