... friend who is stepping in to babysit for a whole day?

My lovely friend has agreed to look after my 20mo DD all day soon. She is in debt and I'd like to pay her the 'going rate' but I have no idea what that is.

What should I give her per hour?

I pay £10 per hour to my friends sister who is 25 and she lives local so her boyfriend picks her up.
If i go out its for dinner and drinks and it's usually only 8pm - 12, but I always give her £50 as its always on a weekend and of course anything from the fridge, (soft drinks, sandwich, etc.

Artandco,
That's a lot .
I take it when you say "Club", there are a few kids?
But too be honest that is a bit much if it was just your child as its day time hours and not in the evening/weekend.

Wow I would never accept £100 from a friend for looking after their child!! She is a friend doing a favour not a professional

Ok, now I feel like I've been exploited getting £5 an hour for all the babysitting I've been doing over the years. Back when I was a teenager I'd regularly do all night babysitting for £20, I could have been rich by now!!

Wow £35 for a day of nursery! Ours is £62, it varies so much around the country, we're in the southeast

Ava - yes it's a holiday club for school age children, I think they can take 40 children at a time
