It's the end of term, buying teachers gifts...

Yesterday I spent all day creating and purchasing thank you present s for teaching staff with my kids 2 children in infant classes and 8 teachers to consider. Main teacher is expecting, so we purchased a little outfit for baby, today though my dh has been approached by another parent seeking £5 for some vouchers. We have already spent just over a tenner, aibu to say no? I've never been approached for a class present before and asking on Monday as the kids break up on Friday is poor planning on their part? Do you agree or am I being a grinch?

of course you say no - you're doing your own thing and dont need to contribute to anything else

you'd be daft to give to another collection, you only give to collection if you cant be arsed to do your own thing and you want to give some how

We've done a whip round. Most parents were very grateful to take up the offer. Some were way too organised and had already bought gifts. No offence was taken if they didn't want to give cash. Some gave only for the staff they hadn't already bought for.

Haha no. Just say you've already sorted your present, if only she'd spoken to you sooner.

Just say you're doing your own thing. Dd's class rep organised a whip round and presents ages ago. Ds1's didn't so we did our own presents.
