... an innovative teacher giving a position of responsibility to a bright but wayward child in the hope that it might encourage them to grow up a bit?

Fingers crossed it'll do the trick as we can't afford the alternative.

Boris is well qualified.

Fluent in French:

German:

Welsh:

Russian:

Greek (Ancient):

Latin:

Plus Spanish and Italian

Being able to speak a lot of languages hadn't made him any wiser about not insulting people.

mamamea · 15/07/2016 10:20

Boris is just as good in French, I have to say

My German teacher was polyglot of Europe one year, speaking over 20 languages.

Not sure that qualifies him for the role.

Absy · 15/07/2016 10:22

I'm not so sure about him being fluent in Russian, as he only says about three Russian words in that clip. I'm sure Ancient Greek and Latin will come in super useful ... And Welsh will be useful when negotiating the split of the U.K. Which he helped cause.

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

He has to stand by the collective decisions of the Cabinet or quit. Give someone a high power job and they can't complain about the team - unless they want to do a Heseltine.

sorenofthejnaii · 15/07/2016 10:24

I wonder how hisdealing with Turkey is going to go?

mamamea · 15/07/2016 10:31

Boris' surname was changed from Kemal.

acasualobserver · 15/07/2016 10:35

It is an analogy but not a very good one.
