Grin ceevee I hate "offering" for breastfeeding too.

I get this image of lobbing one's boob out onto a silver platter and raising the lid with a flourish.

AnnaMarlowe · 10/07/2016 01:11

It didn't sound lighthearted though. It sounded grumpy. So we did take it seriously, as you can see.

LadyB49 · 10/07/2016 01:12

I detest...
Basically
At the end of the day
Literally

KatieKaboom · 10/07/2016 01:13

I also hate the word 'bunting. '

Now that is pure smugfuckery.

AnnaMarlowe · 10/07/2016 01:13

Maisie it is offering though. My DD at 4 days old was able to give me a very old fashioned state as she quite definitively turned her head away from the offered breast.

I'm not overly keen on "lighthearted"...

AnnaMarlowe · 10/07/2016 01:16

As in "super little people" for example Usual?

Grin
Footle · 10/07/2016 01:16

I can't believe you just said overly.

Idiotxit · 10/07/2016 01:17

OP, your OP didn't sound in the least bit lighthearted. Nor do any of your following comments.

You sound a bit crabby and annoyed, so don't be surprised if that's what people pick up on!

AnnaMarlowe · 10/07/2016 01:19

My aim Footle is to piss off as many people as possible with my language choices.

Happily as this is a basically a super, lighthearted thread, all will be well.

KatieKaboom · 10/07/2016 01:19

OP isn't trying out for the fucking cheerleading squad.

She's allowed to sound grumpy FFS.

Just5minswithDacre · 10/07/2016 01:20

And we're allowed not to agree with an angry sounding rant Katie (especially when she denies being grumpy).

AnnaMarlowe · 10/07/2016 01:21

She is indeed is Katie but if you compose a grumpy sounding thread it's a bit off to get tetchy when people respond to that tone.

Just5minswithDacre · 10/07/2016 01:21

Anna Grin

Idiotxit · 10/07/2016 01:22

Maybe you should join her?

Any reason you're lashing out? People just 'saying stuff' really wind you up?

reader77 · 10/07/2016 01:22

I didn't deny being grumpy?! What's wrong with being a bit grumpy?

OP posts:
Just5minswithDacre · 10/07/2016 01:23

Sorry, X post.

It was Happily as this is a basically a super, lighthearted thread, all will be well. I was Grining at Smile

AnnaMarlowe · 10/07/2016 01:23

I once had to apologise to a very grumpy MNer who took terrible offence to me suggesting that she was "tetchy" she was so I thought I'd drop that one in too.

Just I'm literally doing my best.

Sorry reader I'm amusing myself while waiting for the tumble dryer to finish, I'll pop off in a minute and leave you in peace.

PiSeas · 10/07/2016 01:31

Maybe it's just your tone... sometimes lighthearted doesn't travel well. Especially since the post was neither lighthearted and you admitted to being grumpy Hmm
Happily though, I'd say that YABU
but since it's lighthearted I'll give you a Grin

KatieKaboom · 10/07/2016 01:33

Usual, I believe you're right. Grin

The irony of all these earnest, officious posters haranguing the OP for being too serious is delicious.

Coulda been a nice thread.

Justsaynonow · 10/07/2016 01:39

OP I got your "tongue in cheek* tone Smile

My dd literally uses literally every 2nd sentence. When she's talking to me. I'll take the irritation from overuse and misuse over snarky teen grumps/humphs and hostile silence any day. I'm picking my battles.

Reminds me of when my dad came home from an extended business trip and used "cute" constantly, driving my mom up the wall. Made sense when I met the source (OW) a few months later when my parents officially separated.

AnnaMarlowe · 10/07/2016 01:39

I don't know what you mean Katie "could have been", we're all having a jolly old time.

"Haranguing" now that's an excellent word.

"Irony" that's one to be careful of.
