Need better material than 'my baby is growing up and I feel sad'

It's called life.

Now jog on

Am off to revel in my new borns soft downy skin and gaze through my 2, 4 and 6 year olds craft work with pride and wonder.

But surely you could say that of anybody/any writer? Journalists need better things to write about than the news - it's called life. Novelists need better things to write about than fiction - it's called life. etc. etc.

Actually, no.

I wouldn't don't mind mummy bloggers, but sadly there's nothing on offer. I wonder if it's because of death.

I don't really understand them either. Just keep a diary if you must log every minute detail of parenting.

HildurOdegard · 08/07/2016 08:51

Self-congratulatory pap penned by the terminally bored.

SoupDragon · 08/07/2016 09:08

That is exactly what they are doing only they are doing it online.

I usually avoid them, they're absolute piffle, every related subject they tackle. I started to read one via here (thanks Mumsnet) by mistake as the link title suggested the accompanying blog/article was a serious one. Frivolous nonsense they are. Find something more constructive to do.

I don't like them Grin

'my baby is getting bigger and it makes me sad' posts.

I do prefer the my baby is getting bigger and I'm so proud of my bubba for doing whatever every other baby and child do.

Grin

Yes Soup why do people put what is their personal diary online though? Confused

Lweji · 08/07/2016 11:53

You can put whatever you want online. Nobody has to read it.

SoupDragon · 08/07/2016 12:13

I imagine it's because they want to. Also, it's a really easy way to collate pictures, stories and memories etc

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2016 12:29

I get all the pictures, stories and memories etc just not the making it all public stuff.
I bet there's a fair few mummyblogger husbands/partners and wider family members that are very Hmm about it.

TheNaze73 · 08/07/2016 12:39

Horses for courses I think. YANBU though. Some of them are tedious. The worst ones are the blogs, that bang on about how busy they are, have no time for partners or themselves yet somehow, find the time to chuck out their boring rhetoric on a daily basis. I read them more for amusement these days

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2016 12:47

Yes, I don't understand then but are fascinating I have to admit that.

I would think that if you were a mummy blogger yourself you would want to read others.

DrDreReturns · 08/07/2016 13:14

Like that character in 'In the Club' who spends all her time writing her blog while her bloke does all the work!

Mummaaaaaah · 08/07/2016 18:27

where's the like button when you need it....

SpiceLinerandHoneyLove · 08/07/2016 18:53

Oh god. The 'interior designers'/mummy bloggers are a step up from your average mummy blogger. I had to delete Facebook on the basis of one friend who has turned painting furniture and buying crap from The Range into a career.
To be fair she's done well and had a magazine cover, but the tone of it all is just so smug! Doesn't work, investment banker husband, got their house at a pittance from her mother... I could go on. completely jealous
