My partner voted leave and lied to me

He was a Remain campaigner the whole time. Then I went on the shared computer today and he left an email up saying he voted leave but pretended to me that he voted Remain.

Lynch mob

crossroads3 · 02/07/2016 16:27

It wouldn't be the voting differently that would bother me. It would be the lying.

VestalVirgin · 02/07/2016 16:27

hello people are being hard on you for a reason, this is nothing to get wound up about in the bigger scheme of things unless he lies in other matters,

You really, really, really believe that someone who went as far as campaigning for Remain, and then bragged about having secretly voted Leave, would never lie about something else?

He's a lying liar who lies.

If he had told hello that he would vote Leave, and hello voted Remain, then that would be something else.

But he lied about it.

Sparklesilverglitter · 02/07/2016 16:27

Oh not another one

Who knows how he voted for sure, could be lying yo you could be in the email. Either way he is entitled vote however he wants and doesn't have to tell anybody how he really voted.

AndNowItsSeven · 02/07/2016 16:27

I would be extremely upset to be married to someone who voted leave.

Lunch Mob Grin Grin Grin

Nasty feckers I've heard. Don't breathe a word of a Tesco Meal Deal within earshot when they're around Grin

roarfeckingroar · 02/07/2016 16:41

Get over yourself.

roarfeckingroar · 02/07/2016 16:42

I voted leave. DP voted leave.

If he had voted remain I would have taken the piss a bit but I wouldn't be angry. It is his democratic right.

GetAFuckingGrip · 02/07/2016 16:44

VestalVirgin · 02/07/2016 16:47

I guess the lunch mob is as bad as a liar. Why do people bully others for one singular x? We had the same right to vote. You can't control another person.

It works both ways. She has the right to leave him if she doesn't like his political opinions. He tried to contol her by lying to her.

Also, do you NOT KNOW WHAT VOTING IS?

That "singular x" could cost someone their job. If it was about something else it might cost someone their life. That's because that X actually MEANS SOMETHING.

What do you think a referendum is for? Fun? Nice opportunity for you to practise how to draw an X?

Musicinthe00ssucks · 02/07/2016 16:47

Maybe he lied because you are a massive sanctimonious twat?

VestalVirgin · 02/07/2016 16:49

Maybe he lied because you are a massive sanctimonious twat?

He lied because he is a massive sanctimonious twat. Because, obviously, if she were a sanctimonious twat, and he not, then he would do the sensible thing and, you know, leave her. The thing decent people do if they hate someone.

justmyview · 02/07/2016 16:52

If my DH voted differently from me, I'd respect that, as we live in a democracy. I'd be upset he lied to me & feel embarrassed that he told other people about lying to me

branofthemist · 02/07/2016 16:55

He tried to contol her by lying to her.

really? How did it control her?

I am pretty sure this is a spoof thread. But we are already throwing round a abusive accusations?

daisychain01 · 02/07/2016 17:06

daisychain01 · 02/07/2016 17:07

My partner voted leave and lied to me
BMW6 · 02/07/2016 17:12

You should definitley call an end to this marriage OP. You are fundamentally different - you are totally incompatible.

Think about it - how could you ever let him touch you now? Yuck.
People who voted Remain should not mate with those Brexiteers. There ought to be a law against it.

LauderSyme · 02/07/2016 17:14

Lying to you is a problem and you should talk to him about it.
Maybe also wonder whether your behaviour contributed to this. If you are domineering, inflexible and opinionated, he may have seen lying to you as the easier option.
Or, as previously suggested, he may be a twat with a pathological need to play games and keep secrets.

user1467101855 · 02/07/2016 17:16

Do people seriously not care about this, and think its all done and duster a mere week after the biggest day in UK political history in half a century or more?

Fuck me, you spend longer talking about the final of the Bake Off.

RepentAtLeisure · 02/07/2016 17:17

Like someone else said, perhaps he lied to the person in the email?

Tiggeryoubastard · 02/07/2016 17:19

You're a bit late, OP. The totally threads with fictional people voting leave that completely disgust you, in an attempt to show your 'remain' credentials are so last week.

steff13 · 02/07/2016 17:22

I've been married to my husband for 20 years, and I have no idea how he's ever voted in any election ever. There's a reason ballots are cast anonymously.
